The RocketSummer is Bryce Avary, and at only 20-years-old, he self-produced, self-recorded his debut album and found himself playing all the instruments, and writing all the songs on this album.
The album is a mixture of power pop & slower ballads, which all have catchy hooks and lyrics.
The album starts off with 'Cross my heart' which starts off slow, then turns into an upbeat joyful song. I think this is a very good song to start the album with.
"What We Hate We Make" actually incorporates a chorus of children without making the song too cheesy at all. This song is very relaxing and gentle compared to others on the album.
My favourite songs on this album has to be ' Thats so you' because it's a song that makes you think about the words, and his voice sounds great on it. It's a very slow, romantic song, and i never get sick ...
Advantages: Good dialogue, good acting, interesting story Disadvantages: Is a bit of a slow moving story
Seeing how I think I did ok reviewing another of Wes Andersons movies I figured I might as well have a go at reviewing the others I've seen as well, so I figured I'd start with Bottle Rocket, as thats the first film that Wes directed and its also the first film that Owen and Luke Wilson and Bob Musgrave starred in too, the start of good things to come!
This movie I believe was written while Owen (and Luke(?)) and Wes were at university together in Texas in the 1990s and is now seen as a cult comedy hit.
Bottle Rocket is all about three friends who team up to escape their boring lifes and pursuit a life of petty crime. This eventually leads to the local criminal 'head honcho' who's played by James Caan, spotting them and convincing them to carry out a large heist - but is it too much for them to handle and will they get away with it ...
Advantages: Keep up to date in all things glossy and shiny! Disadvantages: No real news. Just pretty pictures!
As I have stated in my other reviews, I am a bit of a nosy parker and I love looking at what is going on in other peoples lives. Why? No other reason then because I love people watching. Looking at what others are doing, how others live their life. Everyone is different. This also includes celebrities. I am not a huge fan of the news, but, celebrity news... now that is what I am interested in. You can call me shallow, sad, whatever?. But I can not help it and I am not ashamed to say I actually reading about Victoria Beckham and her day out shopping for specially made blue metallic Bonsai trees (or something along those lines?.!)
One way of me to get my weekly gossip is through the glossy HELLO! Magazine.
It is a weekly roundup of all things rich and famous. Now I will admit, I do not actually BUY the magazine. (Neither do I steal ...
