This is a fantastic early Less then Jake album, and a must-have for all Less Than Jake Fans. Its also a great introduction to the band for all those who like punk/ska music.

Less than Jake's first release was Pezcore on Dill records in 1994. Following that was Losers, Kings and Things we don't understand in 1995. Losing Streak was originally released in 1996 on Capitol Records, and Hello Rockview followed two years later. They were re-released as a double album in 2000. Later full length albums by the band are Borders and Boundaries (2000), Anthem (2003) and In with the out crowd (2006).

Hello Rockview is more 'mainstream' Less Than Jake, being classic punky ska, while songs on Losing Streak put heavier emphasis on a ska style horn section. The fact that its almost a 'buy one get one free' with two full length albums (31 tracks) makes it great value. Highlights are 'Help save the Youth of America' and 'All my best friends are metalheads' on Rockview, and 'Johnny Quest thinks we're sellouts' on Losing Streak. They are a fantastic live band, and transfer all this energy and enthusiasm onto these CDs. I guarantee you'll be singing along and skanking to your CD player!

Losing Streak:

Powerful start to the album - fast paced ska with plenty of brass. Slightly repetitive lyrics, but has you humming along.

2. Happyman
Classic ska with fast hardcore-ish lyrics. Strong drum beat keeps the track going.

3. 9th at Pine
Seamlessly blends into the last track, they marks its own individuality with an anthem-like chorus and super-fast brass section.

4. Sugar in Your Gas Tank
The first few bars are pure hardcore guitar, then bursts into ska beats and skanking rhythym.

5. Shindo
'something is out there to take me away from a place to small to small to stay....' an angrier track about wanting to move away and make a new life and a new you.

Re-recorded track from their first album Pezcore, and my favourite on the CD.
