I think musically the strongest of WilliamOrbit's many projects, the Strange Cargo series is inoffensive and diverse, combining many styles in one digestible bundle of something nearly but not quite Pop. This time around he brings in more dance elements and keeps the jazz to a minimum. Every track is distinctly Orbit, loaded with special effects. Vocals are sprinkled here and there but are never in the foreground. My favourite track is "hazy shade of random" it has all the traits of the far east, it's truly a wonderful piece of music. Individual tracks incorporate ambient dub, trance techno, dark spacemusic. Is it good? Yes. I think when listening to this album you can close your eyes and pretend you're somewhere else..... ...
