Hellogoodbye are actually an amazing band - I wasn't sure whether they were going to be up to much, having read a variety of reviews and finding a fairly mixed reaction to this EP. This is a genius mix and in doing this, the band have produced an EP that oozes fun and energy, with a truly exciting feel to it.
Hellogoodbye are unashamedly cheesy and are a band that is showing clear signs of living for the moment and having fun while they can. This EP consists of 6 of the greatest songs that I have heard for a long time and the band really do impress with this debut EP. It pushes all the right buttons and I can assure you - if you played this at a party, everyone would be up and dancing, it really is that amazingly fun and effortlessly catchy. There is never a dull moment on this EP, with tracks especially pleasing me being the amazing opener 'Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn,' and EP closer 'Bonnie Taylor Shakedown…2K4' The band starts on a high, so I guess they felt they had to end on a high as well. 'Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn' is definitely one of the greatest songs that I have heard for a long time now. It is amazingly catchy, and superbly written with awesome guitar work, some demon drum beats, and truly astounding bass lines. The vocals are spot on and really do finish the track off nicely, creating an exciting, energetic and entertaining pop classic.
This band really do have a fine talent for penning a good tune, and that is clearly evident on this EP where they have created 6 tracks of pure brilliance. If you have not yet heard this band then I suggest you go out there and listen to them - they may well become one of your new favourite bands. It certainly worked for me, after hearing this EP I was hooked on this band and will definitely be looking out for them in the future. Such a fun, energetic and exciting band is always worth a listen - this CD is likely to be in my changer for some time to come.

Hellogoodbye have recently signed a huge new record deal with sony. Nothing has changed about them as a band but signing with Sony gives them the opportunity to get big, something they was unable to do under the limited financial support of Drive Thru records. And getting big is exactly what they are doing right now with air play on Radio 1, and probably light to medium rotation on MTV and other music video channels. The album ... ...an album. Every track on Hellogoodbye however has a different structure, a bridge where you might not expect one will work together for a very pleasing sound. the album will offer something from relaxing chill out music to music for getting you in the mod for partying. Even the simple yet effective cartoon graphics for their album cover, seem almost innocent whilst still standing out amongst a shelf of other cd's helps to create a squeaky clean image ...

Advantages: Very fresh sound, there aren't many other bands like this Disadvantages: Takes some getting used to, two tracks are pretty much the same
When I first heard this band, I was a bit confused. I was tuned into Last.FM radio and listening to similar artists to Fall Out Boy, and one of the tracks from this EP came on. What I heard was some strange mix of rock, dance and pop, and I wasn't sure what to think. But I gave it a listen and by the end, I realised I quite liked it. So I decided to buy the EP, being that it was quite cheap. Well, the strange music mix carried out throughout the ... ...which isn't the best way to start off, as it was a little forgettable. But the second track, "Call n' Return", more than makes up for that. It's a pretty short song, at just over 2 minutes long, but it sums up this band's unique style perfectly - quick bursts of dance-rock-pop that bring a smile to your face. Track 4, "Jesse Buy Nothing... Go to Prom Anyways", is a little, well, louder than the rest of the CD, but it's also one of my favourite tracks, ...

Advantages: Unique, Original Disadvantages: Not for everybody
Hellogoodbye are part of a new wave of music taking a mix of electronic and pop and getting in on the rock scene. It is a different type of music that is accepted by some people and outcasted by others. This EP is what made Hellogoodbye big. This has helped launch the success of the new album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! which has made them internationally known.
This is definitely an original genre of music for music lovers to appreciate. ... ...as they are currently heading to the UK to do some festivals. They will be big soon and this is the EP that got things going.

I have read vaired reviews on this band, both negative and positive. But this band is amazing. They have their own unique sound. They're not afraid to experiment and this album shows you that. They've tried out all different genres and taken chances. Not all the songs are good but they have quite a few amazing ones for example, Here (in your arms), Touchdown Turnaround and Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn. My personal favourite. This track was released as the fourth single from the album. It is also the title of a film by the same name starring Kathy Burke, in which David also makes a small appearance.
It is a very uplifting track telling how love can conquer all.

where they are, and the children who know the words?this is something you can only show by collecting such moments. They?re hard to bottle but in my opinion this DVD has it about right. I want to see how much enjoyment the hero and musical role model of my teens can spread. The extra features of Paul Mania were exactly what I wanted to see and I got it. Great!
The twelve shiny red trucks deliver the McCartney world of entertainment, clowns, surreal dancers and jugglers, lighting gantries, mixers, engineers, etc, who erect a stage the size of a town and we see the hysterical fans, and hear plaudits from the likes of Stallone and Leno. When McCartney emerges in silhouette to a backdrop with a Hofner Bass on it, holding a real one up in salute, the crowd goes crazy. The first number is ?HelloGoodbye?.
