Album Notes: Above average California ska-punk, very much in the same vein as No Doubt and Sublime. As the title suggests, the album is a combination of live and studio tracks, the live stuff recorded in a small club in front of an enjoyably rowdy audience (singer Jon Pebsworth sets the tone of the proceedings on the opening "Sorry We're Late," in which he explains that their drummer had been outside throwing up).
...Another cheap punk sampler, this time from LameAss records, and as per normal with these low price saplers, is no disappointment.
With 28 tracks in all bands that appear on this compilation include Good Riddance, No Fun At All, Guttermouth, Douglas, Pulley, 88 Fingers Louie, Ten Foot Pole, Gob, BuckONine, Big Wig, Trigger Happy and Raised Fist.
Also contains 2 unreleased tracks from Less Than Jake and Astream.
The only track I was disappointed with was River Fenix’s song. Having seen the band live and really enjoyed them, this song was a bit of a let down. Not as good as I remember them.
This is really good cd and well worth the dirt cheap asking price. Value for money guaranteed....

...is riding tonight
Nineo'clock mornings, five o'clock evenings
I'd liven the pace if I could
Oh I'd rather have a ham in my sandwich than cheese
But complaining wouldn't do any good
Lay back in my armchair, close eyes and think clear
I can hear hoofbeats ahead
Roy and Trigger have just hit the hilltop
While the wife and the kids are in bed
'Social disease' starts off quiet & then comes roaring it, the song features Davey on guitar & banjo along with Leroy Gomex on saxophone.
My bulldog is barking in the backyard
Enough to raise a dead man from his grave
And I can't concentrate on what I'm doing
Disturbance going to crucify my days
And the days they get longer and longer
And the nighttime is a time of little use
For I just get ugly and older
I get juiced on Mateus and just hang loose
And I get bombed for breakfast in the morning
I get...

Advantages: The second song is really up beat and the pack includes the easy to follow dance step instructions and the c.d looks cool too!! Disadvantages: The first song is incredibly boring and how on earth are you meant to dance to that?
...If you have been keeping up to date with the charts you should know that Steps have released a double A side.
The first song is called 'When I said Goodbye' and is, dare i say it, extremely boring. We will be saying goodbye to that song but a big hello to 'Summer of Love'. This song is incredibly upbeat and has some wicked easy to follow dance steps. It's a perfect Summer song from Steps and will last me through the summer.
So if you like to dance to upbeat songs 'Summer of Love' is the song for you. But if you like slow ballads then go for 'When I said Goodbye'.
