Advantages: Great story to read, descriptive and interesting Disadvantages: Would help if you read previous book
I?d quickly popped in the library while waiting for my bus and saw that there was an Emily Barr book in the new part so I grabbed it. I hadn?t read an Emily Bar book for a while but remembered that I had really enjoyed the ones I had.
** The Plot **
The story is about Tansy a married Mum of two living in London who feels like she is missing something in her life. Her and her husband had met travelling and had always said they would return to India but he had got himself a good job in the city and she was busy looking after the kids and working from home part-time. Her friend Elly from travelling who now lives in India emails her and asks her to come out to help at the Children Centre she runs. Tansy is torn as she doesn?t want to leave her family and they refuse to come with her. As she starts steadily drinking more ...
Advantages: some funny bits, unusual plot Disadvantages: predictable
Trenc. Larry Daley is unemployed and divorced he cannot seem to keep a job and he is also a father. He wants to get a job to get back in his son Nick's good books as he seems to want to be more like his step-father (Paul Rudd). He finally goes to an agency and they give him an interview it is at the Museum of Natural History and he soon finds out the position is to be a night guard. He is quickly shown around by the previous guards after he gets the job and they give him the strange advice to not let anything in or out of the museum but they don't explain why they have said this, Larry soon finds out why. After a few hours of entertaining himself talking on the mic he soon noticed the T-Rex missing and next thing he knows he is being chased by the skeleton down the corridor.
Before he knows it more things are coming to life a stone head ...
Advantages: Some of the Beatles' best love songs and a quirky album Disadvantages: It's all a bit 'samey'; if you don't like the early Beatles stuff, you won't like this
ballads and bouncy up-tempo numbers, it?s a great album if you just want a to listen to an album that is simple, well executed with a great, uplifting vibe that isn?t too much of a complex listen.
It's interesting to note how 'A Hard Day's Night' was voted as the fifth greatest rock album of all time by the Rolling Stone magazine. It's an album that does stick with those key instruments of guitars, drums and raspy, screaming vocals and seemingly one of The Beatles records where that simple formula really stands out and makes the album work.
It did take me a good couple of listens before I truly liked ?A Hard Day?s Night? as a soundtrack as I didn?t find it to be as endearing or as striking as many of the songs from later soundtracks like ?Help!? and definitely ?Magical Mystery Tour?. Yet, now that I?ve given it a chance, ?A Hard Day ...
