Hera Pheri is certainly Priyadarshan's finest hindi film and is certainly one of the best comedies to come out from india. This is a great example of how a film can still work big time despite having a simple and thin plot, thanks to its characters and fantastic dialogues.
The basic plot is simple. One day,Babu rao gets a misplaced call from a man who says he has kidnapped his grandchild and wants ransom money.WHen Baburao and his two tenants realise its a misplaced call, they make whole use of it by calling the real person and pretending as the kidnappers.
In the whole mix of earning the extra money, they are ready to go to any extent and the twists and turns in the script follows a funny and joyful ride. The characterisation of the three principal characters are fabulous and somewhat deep considering its a comedy. The comedy is slapstick ...
When Ricky Gervais finished 'The Office', he was in an interesting position; dozens of Hollywood stars and British favourites were asking him to include them in his next project. The unprecedented success of his show meant he was in a powerful position, and one he used well.
Extras is a sitcom about (wait for it) film extras. Gervais plays Andy Millman, a lovable guy who is both very funny but also very vulnerable - a comic mix. Office co-creator Stephen Merchant also takes a role in the show, playing the idiotic agent and ex-Carphone Warehouse worker Darren Lamb.
Andy Millman is very different to David Brent, sharing only a couple of facial expressions. Millman is more down to earth, a very cynical guy with a biting sense of humour and a vulnerable desire to achieve.
Each episode sees Andy working as an extra on a film ...
Advantages: Excellent Story Disadvantages: Role of Sunil Shetty should have been more comedy
Hera Pheri has a good cast comprising of Paresh Rawal,Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. The trio has different behaviours and characters. In this movie they are people living in a poor neighbourhood and one day get a call from a kidnapper due to the print mistakes in the telephone directory. The kidnappers intention is to call a rich industrialist but he doesn't realise that the call has gone to the trio. The story that unfolds thereafter is very well thought of by the director.
Due to this film Akshay Kumar got worldwide fame and praise for his acting talents.Recently it was reported that he got Rs 71 crore for acting in three films which is a huge amountof money.Keep on going Akki!! Paresh Rawal also amuses the audience with his great speaking style and dumb behaviour. ...

Album Notes
Extra Golden: Ian Eagleson, Alex Minoff (vocals, guitar, bass guitar, percussion); Opiyo Bilongo (vocals, guitar); Onyango Wuod Omari (vocals, drums). Additional personnel: Onyango Jagwasi (vocals); David Egan (piano); Dennis Rathnaw (percussion). Bi-continental funk unit Extra Golden released their sophomore album, HEAR MA NONO, on Thrill Jockey in 2007. The outfit comprises members of the American indie rock band Golden and leading members of Kenya's benga music scene--most notably drummer Onyango Wuod Omari and revered vocalist Opiyo Bilongo (who replaced the late group's founder, Otieno Jagwasi, after his 2005 death). Omari's lithe, robust drumming intertwines seamlessly with guitarists Alex Minoff and Eric Eagleson's nimble, syncopated lines, and both Omari and Bilongo's voices soar to joyful heights throughout. (Also, David Egan's occasional piano provides an unexpected treat, particularly on album opener "Jakolando.") Though a curiosity in terms of its union of seemingly disconnected musicians and styles, HEAR MA NONO is above all a vibrant and uplifting listening experience.
Album Reviews
CMJ (p.14) - "The tracks sway from airy, danceable, drum-heavy Afro-Caribbean tunes with light, tinny string plucking, to powerful rock songs that pulse with steel guitar riffs."
