Album Reviews: Q (5/95, p.126) - 4 Stars - Excellent - "...this collection hammers home what an underrated and massive vocal talent Levy is..."
Advantages: Edgy electro dance music Disadvantages: None
...HereCome The Drums - Rogue Traders****(and a half)
You can't have avoided the insanely catchy single Voodoo Child from the latest huge act to hit the UK charts from Australia (and Neighbours). Yes Izzie/Izzy and her mates the Rogue Traders release their debut over these waters. So is it much cop or is Natalie Barometer (it's like the new Sugababe these surnames are too much sorry Natalie… Bassingthwaighte) gonna have to go back and have an affair with Harold Bishop?
1. Believer - The opening track from the Rogue Traders (I wonder where they did get there name from) has a 'hey, hey, hey' opening like that Prodigy song we can't remember… Fire starter! It then bizarrely starts to sound like Gwen Stefani singing over a hard rocky Pink song, all guitars and hard drums! Damn, it its not half bad. "Just come on and say you love me, one...

Advantages: Eno's first musical high Disadvantages: One bad track
...and listening and smirking like a moron. Just great, almost clean, fun.
Some Of Them Are Old is possibly as close to mediocrity as the album ever gets. It’s not a bad song, only it doesn’t quite have the immediacy of Baby’s on Fire, the thrill of Needles in the Camel’s Eye or the subtlety of On Some Faraway Beach. It has its own sound but in many ways I can’t really put words down as to how I feel about this song because I seem to listen to it without quite listening to it. Why is this? It reminds me in some way, the music, of sequenced electronica ala Klaus Schulze. Yet it’s entirely its own thing, and the sequenced, treated guitar...

Advantages: It's a great album with many good songs to listen to! Disadvantages: It becomes a little 'soppy after a while.
...I bought A1's Here We Come because I am a big fan of the group and I found it to be a really excellent album! All My favourite song was Walking in The Rain, which was a beautiful slow song. Other favourites of mine were Ready or Not and Summertime of our Lives because of their up-tempo beat. Heaven By Your Side is also a beautiful song that is worth listening to. I think the lyrics are really good as well and I admire A1's writing skills. The cover is nice and the inlay has good pictures of the band and thank-you's from each of the members. The only problem with the album is that it becomes a little 'soppy' after a while. Though i think that all in all it is a really great album and it left me really looking foward to the next one!...
