Heresy - Paradox

Advantages: its got potential , a few strong points , great drumming
Disadvantages: Messy , repetitive , no signature sound

...So I read the first review on this album and I have to say I disagree with most of the points he made about this album. This is the debut album from Divine Heresy with Dino Cazares (ex factory) and Tim Yeung of vital remains. Ill start by saying with the line-up they have this album could have been awesome. Unfortunately nothing really gels well here, which is a damn shame. You have a very talented guitarist and extremely fast drummer and a good vocalist here so I wonder why they could not write a single really good and outstanding track on this album. This band just has far too much creativity, and is trying to do too much at once. You have vocals similar to Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage, an extreme death metal drummer and a guitarist from an ex industrial themed metal band. .... Some, apparently, seemed to be bear witness to some sort of rite. Another one showed an artefact of the grotesque: The THING actually being neither fresque nor sculpture, but rather combining qualities of both, in a dark manner. This photograph bore the title 'POOR ROOM'. There was also the faded drawing of a sickened maid, with one half leaning against a wall, as if for support, and with her other half laying on the ground, probably soon to be her deathbed, amongst helpless members of the clerical order. The old man sitting in a corner of the shop shuffled his feet. I looked up and saw him stuffing his pipe. As of yet, he had not noticed my interest in this black carton-box with the thin red pin-stripe around the photography on its cover. The print on the box-set read 'VIRGIN PRUNES' & 'HERESIE'. Advantages: amazing drums, guitars, vocals and songs

...Bleed the Fifth is the debut album from Divine Heresy. It was released on August 27th 2007 in the UK. I went out and bought this album after hearing reviews for it in metal magazines, and with Dino Cazares on guitars and one of the world's fastest drummers, this does not disappoint. Dino has brought something new to the metal table, whilst there are tiny hints of his Fear Factory days with certain industrial sounds. Band Info: Divine heresy is a heavy metal/ death metal band with heavy influences from many genres including thrash metal and metalcore.
