Advantages: A thoroughly great night out Disadvantages: Depends on your taste in music
MaddyPrior has the most beautiful voice. She used to be lead singer with Steeleye Span in the 70’s and I always loved their music – remember the hit All Around My Hat?
I saw Steeleye Span perform live at the open air concert at Cardiff Castle where 10CC were topping the bill. It had rained all afternoon and we were all soaked but as MaddyPrior took the stage the rain stopped! I didn't really know her at that time but the music was brilliant and her voice was so clear.
Well, now she sings with The Carnival Band, a group of 5 musicians who can play an amazing number of instruments. As you take your seats for the performance the stage is littered with guitars, fiddles, drums of all sorts, bagpipes (Irish and Flemish), oboe and many instruments I’d never even heard of!

Advantages: Fast Paced, Several Suspects Disadvantages: -
Tami Hoag has written many novels, but I have to say I have formed an attachment to the Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska detective crime series. Kovac is a fast thinking, fast moving police detective who likes to lead with his feet, thinking about the consequences later, whilst Liska is a petite female officer with blonde cropped hair and the ability to cut down a criminal verbally in minutes.
The pair ...
Advantages: Great read Disadvantages: None to speak of
When you see a great magazine on sale with a fantastic photograph of an always glamorous and irresistible Suzi Quatrro, who you have fancied like mad since you first saw her on Top of the Pops?and you read the article and see that Suzi is now aged 56, you KNOW you are in trouble!
Such were the mixed feelings when I was reading the magazine Heyday. Heyday is the magazine for the Baby Boomer Generation, and although at 49 I am not strictly speaking a Baby Boomer, I have to say that I found the magazine an extremely interesting read of 130 pages.
There are special interviews with celebrities like Suzi Quatro (sigh? oh! Sorry! Better get back to the review, hadn't I?!) and in the issue I am reviewing (November/December) the magazine had, as "Experts in this issue" Rosalind Cooper on wine who wrote a fascinating article on fortified ...
