Album Reviews: Q (10/91) - 3 Stars - Good \"..Randy Travis has another whopper on his hands...\"
Advantages: Easy listening Disadvantages: Very much how you'd imagine Country Music to sound
...I stumbled across this in a new and used music shop and bought it just for the hell of it as I had heard some of this guys music before and liked what I'd heard.
Before I get on to what I like about this album, let me tell you about the artist himself.
RandyTravis was born 4th May 1959. In 1981 he moved to Nashville and began writing songs and getting to know the Country Music scene. In 1985 RandyTravis signed a contract with Warner Brother records and thus began his long and upstanding career; as well as being an accomplished artist he has also turned his hand at acting and appeared in the likes of Matlock, Touched By An Angel and Fire Down Below, to name but a few.

The album was recorded in 1987 and contains some very catchy songs. The insert contains details of the songs that are on the CD and if you fancy...

Advantages: Good upbeat live songs, loads of tracks Disadvantages: too explicit to play infront of young children etc
...blink-182 are a Californian based popular punk rock band and are one of my favourites. Their music has a good feel to it and all of the tracks are usually fast paced and have some incredibly funny lyrics. They are well known for their catchy melodies and hilarious toilet humour, which is particularly evident on this album.
The members of blink-182 are Tom Delonge (guitar, vocals), Mark Hoppus (bass, vocals) and Travis Barker (drums), hence the name of this album. Mark and Tom have been in the band since it started back in 1992, however, Travis was a more recent edition and was drafted in from a support band, 'The Aquabats' back in 1998, in the middle of the 'Dude Ranch' tour. Blink were forced to look for a new drummer, as their previous drummer, Scott Raynor went missing and became an alcoholic. They give him a choice, stop...

Advantages: All the greatest Travis songs on one CD!! Disadvantages: There are non!!
...For any Travis fans out there, or even if you are not already a Travis fan... this is the must buy album of 04/05. I was so happy to find out that all my favourite Travis songs would be pressed onto one CD that I went out and bought it immediately. Upon my first listen, I was not disappointed.
You can't deny the genius that is Travis. Their songs are both the height of happiness and the depth of sadness. The melody of the guitar and the sound of Fran Healy’s voice are so beautiful to listen to, you will be smiling ear to ear.
The Singles spans a career of 8 years and 4 albums, making this a definitive ‘best of’. All their best tunes have been pressed here including the superb melody of ‘Driftwood’ and the world famous ‘Why does it always rain on me?’. There is also the newer ‘Sing’ which is such a fantastic sing along song! Other...
