Hill Of Thieves - Cara Dillon

Advantages: Cara's beautifully clear voice
Disadvantages: Starts to sound a little samey after a while.

...I first heard Cara Dillon's songbird voice on Radio 2's folk night and was stunned by its clarity and pitch. Her voice really is a delight to listen to - and rest assured, having seen her perform live I can vouch that it is not 'computer-enhanced' but completely natural. The folk and folk-style tunes are either written by or arranged by Cara's partner Sam Lakeman who accompanies her on piano and guitar. The arrangements are unique and interesting, at times ambient, and sometimes almost orchestral in sound. I particularly love the unusual setting for Black is the Colour, to which Cara brings life and a breath of fresh air. I feel I must applaud the talent of Sam Lakeman, whose name should have been alongside Cara's on this album, as I believe it is his accomplished arranging and producing talents that truly make this album, but... Advantages: Lots of things to grab, chew and squeeze
Disadvantages: Pointless for a newborn

...When my little girl was born she received loads of teddy bears and the Blossom Farm Activity Dillon Donkey was one of them. To begin with she showed no interest in this teddy whatsoever (mind you what baby would play with something that is almost as big as them). So we put it to one side and forgot all about it. Then recently I dug it out again and gave it to her to see if she would play with it (she is now nearly 5 months) and to my surprise she absolutely loves it. I would imagine it has something to do with all the various things that she can grab and chew. So what makes this teddy different to the rest? This teddy is approximately 31cm tall so it's a nice size; it has two big floppy ears which have crinkly paper inside them so they make a noise when grabbed. ...The Hills is my guilty little pleasure. There's backstabbing, friendships, boyfriends, clubbing, making up, breaking up, in fact this programme has everything! The Hills is actually a spin-off television series from the very popular show, Laguna Beach. This show followed a bunch of high school students through their life in Laguna Beach, California, a very affluent, beautiful area right on the coast of Southern California. One of the main characters was Lauren Conrad, often referred to as LC. She, in my opinion is quite a pretty, nice mannered girl, if somewhat spoilt. She has the clothes, looks, long blond hair and drives a very nice convertible car. I do like her and I think she is quite entertaining. She often seems to have a rough ride where some of her friends are concerned but that is life, and more importantly that is life... Read review
