Advantages: Lot of fun Disadvantages: Not any to mention
executive, Mr Brewster.
And the third episode shows how Pearl's efforts to catch Mr. Brewster seem doomed to certain failure. Until he makes a public proposal! (Oops!)
And in the fourth episode, why them plum crazy Clampetts head back to Californy, I mean California, but take Pearl and Jedrine back with then. To add to the general mayhem, the producers decided to get Max Baer to play Jedrime. After all these years I now have an answer to why Jethro sometimes dressed as a woman. That's because, for those scenes he WAS a woman! I think?
The canned laughter is now a little irritating, the jokes at the expense of the Clampetts now seem even more contrived and perhaps somewhat unkind than they did 40-odd years ago (would people from the Hillbilly country really not know what a Jet was?) and the sound recordings were sometimes a bit dodgy ...
Advantages: It cleans what it is supposed to Disadvantages: Poor design and quality
I've owned this carpet cleaner with upholstery attachment for nearly exactly two years, when purchased it was on offer at £69.99, currently £81.74 (RRP £149.99)at amazon. The first and probably most important thing I would say about this cleaner is don't pay £149.99 or you may be disappointed. At a lower price this cleaner was a good alternative to me to hiring a carpet cleaner - at the time I was moving out of a rental house and into my own house and so wanted to clean all the carptets myself, and this as I shall explain, the cleaner was able to do successfully, though I have a few reservations about this product, even at a lower price.
What you get
The Vax VO26 came in quite a compact box. The first task on opening the box is actually to assemble the cleaner. Now call me fussy but for an item with "deluxe ...
Advantages: Situated in a nice area, really friendly staff, basic apartment Disadvantages: Nothing too special about it, wouldn't go back.
I booked up with Thomson to go to Turkey from London Stansted to Dalaman and to stay at Samira Deluxe Apartment with my other half. It cost us about £750 altogether for one week at the end of June, which I think is OK for a holiday these days.
The apartments are 2 hours drive away from Dalaman airport, which some people think is quite a long time; but it didn't seem too long because we were just so tired as we landed at about 1am. We got to the apartments at about 3am. Walking into the reception; it was horrible. Everywhere was covered in moths because they kept all the doors open and all the lights on. They were absolutely everywhere. We were shown to our room and found that we had twin beds that couldn't be moved together and we were both too tired to complain about it, so we both went to bed.
Waking up, we went to our extremely ...

Album Notes
Personnel includes: Dwight Yoakam (vocals, acoustic guitar); Pete Anderson (electric guitar, bass); Greg Leisz (lap steel guitar); Tom Brumley (pedal steel guitar); Brantley Kearns (fiddle, background vocals); Skip Edwards (piano); J.D. Foster (bass); Jeff Donovan (drums); Herb Pedersen, Dusty Wakeman (background vocals). This follow-up to Yoakam's sensational debut GUITARS, CADILLACS... is an equally compelling dose of his straight-ahead, irresistible Bakersfield country. In the mould of his heroes Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, Yoakam works a no-frills, traditional honky tonk sound, yet brings to the form a touch of twang guitar rockabilly and his own spin on convention. Yoakam's stripped down aesthetic, wiry guitar leads, and laid-back but stylized vocals (not to mention back-ups that occasionally sound like they're sung with tongue in cheek) hint that the singer likes to tweak the sacred cow of country, even as he rides it. The album includes four hit singles: "Please, Please Baby," a cover of Lefty Frizell's "Always Late (With Your Kisses), the true blue honky tonk gem "Little Ways," and a superlative, country-rockified reading of Elvis Presley's "Little Sister." Though these are more than enough to carry the record, the remaining tracks, including the cowboy boogie of "Smoke Along the Track" and country ballads like "Johnson's Love" (complete with weeping steel guitar, of course), round out the package nicely. An excellent sophomore installment from one of contemporary country music's brightest lights.
Album Reviews
Q (7/93, p.115) - 3 Stars - Good - "...Kentucky-born Dwight Yoakam is still the best PR man that Buck Owens never had...[the album] established him not only as the man with the immovable hat but as a genuine country singer with the potential to cross into the rock arena..."
