Advantages: Great variety of songs, enough tracks to keep anybody occupied for some time. Disadvantages: Slightly genre-specific, I suppose.
What is there to say about SteeleyeSpan to the unacquainted? The immediate comparison that leaps to mind is to the contemporary British folk-group, Fairport Convention, but it is unlikely that many of Fairport's fans will have managed to miss out on Steeleye altogether, and they, too, have faded rather into obscurity, rendering the comparison quite useless. Therefore, to start from the beginning:
SteeleyeSpan are one of those groups who don't seem to be able to keep a static line-up for more than two albums at a time. That said, the thing about Steeleye is that it doesn't matter what incarnation of the band you are listening to, they are *always good*. My RealOne Player informs me that they fit into the category of 'folk-rock', but with the exception of a few songs - such as the techno-enhanced Thomas The Rhymer - I would say ...
The Hills is my guilty little pleasure.
There's backstabbing, friendships, boyfriends, clubbing, making up, breaking up, in fact this programme has everything!
The Hills is actually a spin-off television series from the very popular show, Laguna Beach. This show followed a bunch of high school students through their life in Laguna Beach, California, a very affluent, beautiful area right on the coast of Southern California. One of the main characters was Lauren Conrad, often referred to as LC. She, in my opinion is quite a pretty, nice mannered girl, if somewhat spoilt. She has the clothes, looks, long blond hair and drives a very nice convertible car. I do like her and I think she is quite entertaining. She often seems to have a rough ride where some of her friends are concerned but that is life, and more importantly that is life ...
Despite it?s huge success , the film Notting Hill had never appealed to me . I don?t know if was because of the fact that I was only about ten or eleven when the film came out , and so because of the ?cover? of the DVD , as a child , I instantly thought ?that looks boring? , and so I had always had that opinion of the film , despite the saying ? Never Judge A Book (or in this case , a film) by it?s cover).
However , many years later , I am sat in a media studies lesson in college, when the teacher tells the class that we are going to be watching clips from movies and then analysing the setting , speech , lighting , etc. The first film to come on was Notting Hill. Most people had seen it and some were saying ?oh this next bit is funny? whilst we were watching the clip. Whereas I hadn?t seen it. I found the clip that we watch to be ...

Full title: The Hills Of Greenmore: An Anthology. Steeleye Span includes: Maddy Prior (vocals). A budget-priced two-disc 31-track anthology, THE HILLS OF GREENMORE contains five tracks from singers Tim Hart and Maddy Prior's first two duo albums, FOLK SONGS OF OLD ENGLAND VOLUME ONE and SUMMER SOLSTICE, alongside the expected selections from the first three Steeleye Span albums. Hart and Prior's duo records are exquisite traditional English folk music, perhaps purer than Steeleye Span's rock-influenced electric arrangements, but no less joyous or exciting. This period of Steeleye Span's career, when Ashley Hutchings was the band's driving force, is arguably its best, and the selection, which focuses heavily on the band's classic debut HARK! THE VILLAGE WAIT, is excellent. There are no rarities here for fans, but newcomers to the magic of this exceptional folk-rock band will find THE HILLS OF GREENMORE a perfect introduction.
