Advantages: Great pop, vocalist sounds like Neil Diamond Disadvantages: A bit rich for repeated listens
...with the structure of the song.
Third is the musicianship: they're all good but I particularly like guitarist Chris "Ev" Etherington, who impressed me with his quiet skill when we've seen them live. But they're all good.
And, if that's not enough, the band just have a nice appealing image: their artwork is cool, the bassist is called Dez the drummer Zed, and they have a good sense of humour.
Standout tracks are "Ashes and diamonds", which starts off quietly and builds up and has some nice guitar strumming; the catchy singles "I will wait for you" and the poptastic "Hannah we know" and the claptastic "Bonfire of the night", but there aren't any duffers.
Tiny Dancers' name is not taken from the Elton John song, but simply because the words felt right formed in early 2005 in Sheffield. And they never got any free milk: Thatcher the Milk Snatcher...

Advantages: Bass slappery all the way Disadvantages: Worrying that recovering heroin addicts can make such a fine album
...Often overlooked these days thanks to the brilliance of BloodSugarSexMagik and the modern classic that is Californication, Mother's Milk is arguably still the most listened to of the Chili's albums within the most hardcore element of their fans. The opening song (Good Time Boys) is a bass slapping frenzy from start to finish, and its successor (a rip roaring cover of the Stevie Wonder classic) Higher Ground is truly fantastic. Other highlights include Knock Me Down, an anti-heroin message, and Taste the Pain which sets the tone for the second half of the album. While somewhat raw in places and perhaps affected by the drug withdrawals the band were reputedly suffering during recording, this takes little away from what will always be a classic. Go out and buy it....

Advantages: Simply Breathtaking, Emotional. Disadvantages: It Ends.
...Comely' and 'Communist Daughter' each of which are just as inspirational. It is no mistake that so many bands around today list Neutral Milk Hotel as one of their major influences. In terms of simple song and lyric writing, Jeff Mangum has worked wonders.
I cannot possibly recommend this album enough. If you want to hear someone truly singing from the heart about something with meaning, buy this album....
