Advantages: DMX - fine performance, excellent soundtrack, nicely choreographed fight scenes Disadvantages: Horrific plot, horrific script, Seagal not improved his acting skills with age.
of the martial arts sequences do mimic his previous Jet Li hit, although interestingly Seagal felt that the use of wires and other modern techniques detracted from the artistry of true martial arts claiming he was a proper ‘fighter’.
‘ExitWounds’ is a flashback to some of the classic action hits of the 1980s, but it offers nothing original, and is mired by a horrific plot and terrible screenplay, offering only a vague resemblance to the book on which it is based.

Advantages: There will be no pop quiz about this movie. High IQ not required. Disadvantages: It's a dumb action film with Seagal.
Is there anyone reading this who thinks Steven Seagal is a great actor or that he will make a film that isn't at its very best derivative junk?
If you're interested in ExitWounds at all, it's because it's an action movie and has a somewhat interesting cast. You're expectations for it are probably pretty low but your curious if Seagal is still a reasonably entertaining bad-ass and if DMX can act. The answer to both questions is a qualified yes.
ExitWounds is low-brow entertainment. It's not a film you study or savor for its intricacies or sub-texts. You watch a film like this very much like you watch your average television program. You don't think too much, you don't expect too much, and if you get a little stimulation you're reasonably happy. Since it started life as a big screen film you expect it to have a few really ...
Advantages: Some good action Disadvantages: lame plot, seen it all before
There were quite a few eyebrows raised last year when ExitWounds went straight to the top of the US box office with a $19 million take, the reason for this was the fact that any film starring Steven Seagal in last few years hasn't had the fortune to even make it to a cinema screen. Why this film was the exception is anyone's guess as there's nothing that makes it stand out from the pack in any way.
Seagal plays Orin Boyd, a chicago cop who doesn't do things by the book but get's results. His latest exploit results in the safety of a US senator but a lot of bloodshed and carnage as a result. This leads to Boyd's expulsion to one of the worse precincts in the city, it's here that he upsets the applecart and cpmes across widespread corruption in the force. In the meantime his attentions are brought to a possible drug dealer in ...

Album Notes
Perhaps best known in America for providing the soundtrack to the opening credits of THE SOPRANOS, Alabama 3 have been churning out their strange hybrid of canned Americana mashed with contemporary dance for over a decade. HITS AND EXIT WOUNDS is their first retrospective, and it succeeds in providing a concise and inclusive collection of their output, as well as being a fitting introduction to the band. Brits masquerading as simple Southern folk is nothing new, but the tenuous marriage of style they exploit in different ways in their songs is novel. Ultimately, most of the tracks avoid kitsch in either their inventive production or the odd inclusion of leftist and/or Situationist rhetoric.
