When Pendulum erupted onto the mainstream club scene with Slam, I was impressed. It sounded different to the Europop wannabes, mainly because it didn't try to be one of them. The video (with the fat bloke dancing around half-naked) was pretty amusing too. However, I only got the album a little while ago and I was VERY impressed. I put it on in the background while I was busy doing other things and a lot of tracks caught my attention.

The title track, in particular, is one of the most mesmerizing songs I have ever heard, and is firmly in my favourites list. Everything about it is great; the intro, the chorus, the bridge, the verses... I love it. And it's a good thing that this album has a tradition of carrying on the quality throughout.

The vocals on songs are varied but still original and interesting, they suit each song. The beats are catchy, even though the album isn't without its' flaws; some tracks seem more filler than killer. But on the whole, it's definitely worth a listen, especially if you want to feel inspired with your own DJ career, as more than one person have done.
