Advantages: Absolutely essential for anyone interested in popular music. Disadvantages: Probably can't dance to it
...Highway 61 Revisited opens with the gun shot drum beat of 'Like A Rolling Stone', surely a major contender for best rock single of all time. After it was released in 1965, nothing was the same in US and European popular music. Although Dylan understood the British pop scene, he knew that rock music belonged to the USA and that even the Beatles were formed out of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Elvis. The sound is tough, loud guitars, organ and Dylan's unique powerful harmonica style. But most of all it is American. Making the title track Highway 61, the huge road that runs down the US is typical. Dylan's lyrics flash from one street scene to another, pausing to watch the characters living in a society where just about anything goes. Coupled with great melodies, it means there isn't a bad song on this album. It ends with Desolation Row...

Advantages: For any Buddy Holly Fan Disadvantages: None unless you do not like Buddy Holly
...or travelling in your car, or when you are on the bus going to work etc, though be careful as do to the content you will end up singing out loud to everyone around you.
This collection of songs is everything everybody remembers of Buddy Holly, Classics like Oh Boy, Peggy Sue, Rave On , Not Fade Away etc you can almost imagine how much heart this artist put into these songs because the tone words just go hand in hand with each other. Buddy Holly will always be heard and played world wide due to the effect his music has on us. This is a must for any devoted or new Buddy Holly fan of any age.
Also this is excellent summer time tunes if your young and do not know who Buddy Holly is just ask mum and dad for their record you will be hooked.

Advantages: Fun pop album, unique sound Disadvantages: Some fillers
...jazz guitarist and pianist, and Holly is not just talented vocally but also wrote two of the songs on this album, which is good for a debut.
Holly brought out her first album while she was still appearing in the show over here in the UK, following the success of singles "Kiss Kiss", "Down Boy" and "Naughty Girl". From the release of first single "Kiss Kiss", Holly looked set for stardom, winning many awards such as 'Woman of the Year' by GQ (although this probably wasn't based on her singing ability!) and 'Best New Artist' at the Japanese Music Inustry Awards and achieving an instant number one hit with her first single and top ten hit with her debut album. Despite this success, Holly was unfeasibly dropped by her record company out of the blue after her second album didn't quitematch this success. Despite this I feel that Holly deserves...
