This is the third album by the Manic Street Preachers and is their blackest hour. The album was written when Richey was suffering from severe depression and the lyrics cleary show this, discussing subjects such as the holacust and anorexia. The album is extremly consistent throughout, each song is brilliant, dark and thought provoking. Altough all of the songs are brilliant, the stand out tracks for me are Yes, Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruth.. and 4st 7lb. This is certainly a contender for the best album of the 90's and is a must for everybody.
