Advantages: Amazing Voice Disadvantages: The CD Ends
...I can remember the first time i heard Amy Winehouse sing, i thought wow now theres a good voice. I can remeber the even bigger shock when i saw her on TV she looked nothing like i would have imagined!
Sadly she has been in the papers alot recently for things other than her records, this made me decide to remind everybody of one extremely good aspect about her - her voice.
Back to Black is Amy's second album and was released last year. There are many tracks on there that most people should have heard of. If you havent where on earth have you been hiding for the last year?
This CD is well worth a listen, the tracks are catchy and amy's voice is simple amazing.
Track 1 - Back To Black
This is the first track to be released from the album of the same name in April 2006. This song has a really catcy beat to it, it has a large...

Advantages: Cranberries in new style of music Disadvantages: Most tracks are lyrically shallow compared to previous Cranberries Album
...first Cranberries' album: Explore their previous CD's. You'll be surprised how Dolores wrote excellent songs in the past.
My Critical Observation And Opinion
I have actually heard all of Cranberries' songs. I even occasionally sing their previous album's song 'Ode To My Family' and I shamelessly get up the stage of sing-along bars and sing 'Zombie' when I get a little tipsy. However, the tracks of this album contains the 'different' Cranberries and the change surprised me.
The lyrics of most songs of this album leave listeners with hanging ideas as Cranberries try to leave abstract messages on most of the songs. Dolores was good in writing thought-provoking songs as heard in her previous albums. But it seems that she has lost the spark lyrically in Bury The Hatchet. I hear a different Dolores O'Riordan in this album.
I noticed...

Advantages: New fantastic female british RnB artist Disadvantages: None
...For me the young songstress Amy Winehouse is a prolific performer. The atmosphere which fills out any room when she performs, or even when you play her CD is astounding. Amy Winehouse is a 19 year old who hails from North London, who writes most of her music on guitar. Not only is Amy’s voice reminiscent of a classic 40’s Jazz singer, she incorporates, Jazz, Hip Hop and R’n’B into each song, but instead of following the norm, Amy adds her own unique stamp to each track. For me the fact that music throughout the decades had influenced a young female (who could be twice her age) is amazing, when listening to her raw voice, it sounds like all her troubles in life have emerged through music. When listening to Winehouse’s debut album, Frank, it is not hard to notice the musical influences who of which she has...
