OK. Back around '97, I had heard the singles Around The World and Da Funk, but I didn't really listen to either and didn't really take Daft Punk too seriously. I thought the videos were good, and that was about it. Until I heard homework. What they do is simple, but amazingly effective. This is music that does not have its head up its own ass like alot of the grandiose, synthy dance you hear in clubs nowadays. The beats are uniformly simple but all the more effective because of it. Expect a lot of boom... sha... boom... sha... :) Tunes like "Alive" and "Daftendirekt" are so exceptional you can expect to be using your stereo's repeat function quite alot. Buy this. Daft Punk seem to me to be nineties dance's best kept secret.

Advantages: Great tunes, humour (though not novelty) and a wonderful 80's vibe Disadvantages: Final track 'Too Long' is as it says on the tin. Compared to first album, maybe they've sold-out a little bit.
