Advantages: Fantastic Songs Disadvantages: Some Scary, Dark, Creepy Moments
...and obviously the quality of sound is so much superior to vinyl. It is for these reasons that I have re-purchased most of what I consider to be my classic Albums on CD. The Scream is one such example of an Album that I consider to be a classic.
Even before this Album had been released Siouxsie & the Banshees had already built up a large following. They had played hundreds of live gigs for over two years and supported such acts as the Sex Pistols. They had also notched up a top ten single with a song called "HongKong Garden" which did not appear on the vinyl version of this debut Album.

Advantages: A Great Bit of Prog Rock History Disadvantages: It is very definitley Prog Rock
...to do what they were told. Anyway upon leaving Genesis he first recorded "Please Don't Touch" in 1978, and with the touring line up he assembled went onto record this album "Spectral Moorings" in 1979.
This album is quite an eclectic mixture of songs like most of his solo albums and is definitely rooted in British prog rock, which for an old punk like me is heresy to admit to liking let alone loving, but then does one really care? One writer even commented that "a trip around the world from Brighton pier to Hong Kong Harbor" which is indeed a fairly accurate description.
On the album we have referenced to English literature with "The Virgin and The Gypsy" taking the title from the book by D H Laurence which he deliberately did not read until he finished the lyrics, this is takes influences from classical and more prominently folk music...

Advantages: Really impressive action adventure score, one of the best of 2005 Disadvantages: Some action scenes a little unremarkable

After tackling with the giant undertaking of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and garnering so much critical and popular (as well as Oscar) success, director Peter Jackson had things pretty sweetly in his pocket, allowing him to basically do what ever he wanted. So with the studios more than willing to let Jackson have free reign over what to do next, he went in a completely different direction from the literary fantasy genre to a cinematic icon: King Kong. King Kong is of course one of the most famous movies ever made, involving a big ape being transported to New York from an obscure island as a spectacular new exibition only to escape, wreack havoc on the city, kidnap the pretty female lead, and climb to the top of the Empire State Building only to be fall down with a big thump.
