Their best album
Review of Bring It On - Gomez by  yhwman

Advantages: Great songs
Disadvantages: None

...When John Lee Hooker listened to this album it moved him to declare “I can’t find no serious defects” high praise from the big man of blues. Blues is probably the best genre to lump Gomez in, though they are to some extent a genre spanning band, though not as many as some. Standard blues you won’t find on this album, not even Hoochie Coochie Man or anything approaching a blues standard. Alternative blues perhaps, though don’t go thinking this is Jon Spencer. It’s a laid back, mainly lo-fi approach with tracks like Tijuana Lady that just seem to float in on the breeze. Perhaps slacker blues would be the best way to describe Gomez’s unique sound; there’s certainly not many other bands with this sound, and that, along with the sheer quality of the songs, is why I like this album as much as I do.... Clapton, a return to the blues
Review of From The Cradle - Eric Clapton by  bloozeboy

Advantages: Graet album from agreat artist
Disadvantages: Not to everyones taste

.... The driving bass will get your toes tapping to this. Track four, Hoochie Coochie man, is a favourite of many and may not need an introduction, but again Clapton puts on a fine performance and is in fine voice. Track five is Five Long Years, a well covered song by many artists and its easy to see why, with distorted guitar and some fine guitar work with some lengthy licks and good vocal this is the type of blues standard that Clapton loves doing and he does it well. Onto track six and Tore Down is a fast paced number with horns in the background and the rhythm section on fine form. Track seven sees Clapton on acoustic, (Dobro?) for the first time on this album with an old blues written by Leroy Carr? Backed by piano and harmonic, this is a slowish number reminiscent of the Unplugged album. Goin’ away baby at number eight on the tracklist... Read review

Eric Clapton, One More Car, One More Rider
Review of One More Car One More Rider (Live) [ECD] - Eric Clapton by  dvdsprks2

Advantages: This is a live peformance
Disadvantages: It's not a triple album

...One More Car, One More Rider by Eric Clapton When this album came out I hadn't made my annual pilgrimage to see Mr Clapton for a few years as he seemed to be taking a break. So I was having withdrawal symptoms of live music at its best and that's what you get from this artist his best at every performance. So it was with great relief that I received this CD for a present for Christmas 2003. . Although in 2004 I saw him at the M.E.N. in Manchester. When putting the CDs on I would make sure you're not interrupted as this is a live CD. Tracks on the first CD Open with a sit down set. 1. Key To The Highway - written by William Broonzy and Charles Seegar - This song kicks the album off and it is one of the best and most covered blues. Most famously by Brownie McGhee & Sonnie Terry. But put this album on and you hear... Read review
