Advantages: Enjoyable story, well written Disadvantages: A straightforward chicklit novel
...A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans was published in 2006. Having read her previous novel, Going Home, I was keen to try this one too. I purchased it when it was still in hardback in 2007, for £10, which I thought was rather good for a nice hardback. The cover is sparkly, with glitter on it, and the book is not too large - a perfect chick lit book.
I like the occasional chick lit novel, but I like them to be reasonably intelligent. I need a good story, well written characters and good details. I found that Going Home met these requirements, but would A Hopeless Romantic?
The novel tells the story of Laura, who is addicted to falling in love. She has had numerous romantic disasters and is in the midst of another, to her friends despair. When everything goes wrong, she retreats on a family holiday to Norfolk, where she meets Nick...

...About every 6-9 months, we need to buy new shoes, and what better place to do just that then Clarks, one of the UK's top shoe shops.
THE WINDOWS
I've seen many Clarks stores are very basic when it comes to windows, this Clarks had a few shoes on display, nothing else. Not drawing me in.
SHOPABILITY
There's a range of shoes in Clarks, adult shoes, trainers, school shoes and shoes for babies and toddlers. (e.g. one or two "Bootleg" and one or two "YoToy" under trainers)
WAS I BEING SERVED?
There were two people in the shop who could serve you, and they were helpful, there was one who was on the till, and one helping people try on their shoes, and also working...

...Before I start there is one thing I need to get straight Lytham and St Annes are two different places with 2 different town centres and I am reviewing St Annes and not Lytham. (ok it is now a single borough but the people that live in these places see them as separate towns) If you put either St Annes or Lytham into google etc you will get information on both Lytham and St Annes
The full name is St Annes-On-the-Sea which is shortened to St Annes .
A Bit of History
Colonal Clifton the squire of Lytham wanted to develop the area known as 'West End' (That part is now St Annes) All there was in 1870 was Dunes, a railway from Blackpool to Lytham and some farms and cottages that paid rent to the Clifton's. They had seen the good of Lytham as a resort so saw the dunes as somewhere they...
