This album was bought for me by my boyfriend, I did like their songs before I was given their album, but I probably wouldn't have gone out to buy it for myself, predominantly because I had only heard one or two of their tracks!
However... since I have had this album, there is one copy in my CD player to wake me up in the mornings, there is one copy in my car for easy listening when I'm driving, and one in the kitchen so I can sing along as I'm cooking - it doesnt improve you cooking skills though, believe me!
The lead vocalist of the three guys, Chaplin, in this album, is allowed to put his silky tenor voice to the forefront of their music as their is no guitar in this album what-so-ever! The predominance of his singing is no weakness, Chaplin's sheer power deserves to be heard, and this record will make sure it is. Chaplin, without a doubt, owns his chords and admirable tones.
The sensitive lyrics show the bands exceptional taste. They are of the sensitive-romantic variety, one man alone against the world (or at least his girlfriend). A great, heart felt performance by the band.
However, the 11, very similar sounding tracks only last for a brief 45 minutes, so for a long car journey this may not be the album to best fulfil its purpose.
Keane seem to be trying too hard to be like Coldplay and such bands, and although it would have been nice for them to try and develop a unique sound of their own, this album promises even greater sounds from the trio in the future!

Advantages: Can be played over and over, songs never grow old Disadvantages: Slightly different sound to previous album if you're expecting lots of piano
