Walking around Toys R Us a few months back now with the usual "want daddy I want it daddy" ringing in my ears my little 2 year old Rhegan went very quiet so thinking he had wandered off I turned around sharply with a slight amount of panic rushing through my head and noticed him rocking happily backwards and forwards behind a display of boxes. When I walked around I saw that he had mounted a rockinghorse and was having the time of his life. "Look Daddy Gee Gee" he kept telling me so of course seeing something he loved so much out came my wallet and we bought him one for the princely sum of £19.99.
I collected the box from the customer service desk and placed it in the car "Daddy Gee Gee Please" still ringing in my ears. When we got home he demanded that I open it straight away and set it up for him to have a go on so I unpacked it ...
Advantages: cute, bought fairly cheap, kids love it, sturdy Disadvantages: parts fall off,
It is my point of view that the mamas & papas rock and ride horse - Gulliver is an adorable creature that will be loved by all infants, it does however have its drawbacks. After purchasing this adorable little horse for my little sister I was devastated to hear her heartbroken sobs down the phone less than 8 hours later. Poor old Gulliver was now earless! However after my mothers caring veterinary skills with a needle and thread Gulliver has since been made a much loved and greatly played with asset to my little sisters bedroom.
However I do advise parents to supervise very young children with this item as there is the risk of falling off it (although it is very sturdy) and also parts tend to like falling off!
This is only my opinion and I must stress that it is only an opinion, friends of the family have bought their kids this ...
