Horror Show - Iced Earth

Advantages: Very well written, Some very good songs
Disadvantages: Some songs sound all the same

...Iced Earth are back again, the accomplished heavy metalers are back with this 'Horror Show'. This album features a lot of great song's and a couple of classic's. Transylvania (4.25) This, an instrumental piece, is a fast barrage of fast riffing and amazing lead's. I was very impressed by the first riff wich gives this song a bit of a thrash feel to it. The second riff was stunning, and absolute classic riff, and the lead wich was played after it was incredible. This song goes to show the guitarist's wholesome supply of classic riff's. The solo was nice and bluesy and worked well with the earlier lead riff. Rating: 10/10 The Phantom Opera Ghost (8.40) A very operatic feel to the start of this song, a nicely played classical/acoustic riff. Then..in kicks the distortion, the drums and bass and away we go! Advantages: amazing vocals, aggressive, sounds new and fresh

...The legendary Rob Halford has rejoined Judas Priest and now Tim Owens had to find another band to join. Now in 2004 we have the fortune to hear one of the world's most underrated vocalists with Iced Earth on their new release "The glorious burden". Replacing the much beloved Matth Barlow on the vocals was not an easy task, but I think this was the best thing that could happen to this band since Tim's amazing range and aggressive vocal delivery fits in my opinium better their music than Barlow voice. New to the band is also Ralph Santolla replacing Larry Tarnowski on the guitar. This is a very patriotic album about the American history of war. The path of this album is set from the beginning with "Star sprangled banner" which is as you guessed the US national anthem, played with guitar and "military marching drums". The songs deal... Advantages: Another version to add to your collection of Rocky Horror memorabilia
Disadvantages: Doesn`t tell you who plays who on here

...This is another soundtrack to Richard O`brien`s cult classic The Rocky Horror Show. This version is from the 1990 play cast. Unfortunately the booklet does not give you all the information needed, if you want to know that who played who in this play. However, I can tell you that Mr Ade Edmonson ( Vyv from The Yong Ones fame ) plays the character Brad Majors in this production. A very unique cast of various actors and actresses adorn this unique version of this well know cult play. Also, you do get actual vocalisation on here. Although after seeing the play many years ago & then seeing the classic movie, I cannot place where some of the vocal snippets have come from. This style of music can be described as 1950`s camp.
