Advantages: you wont guess the twists Disadvantages: a bit contrived & doesn't bear too many viewings
in the form of rivers of sweat trickle down Johnson's face when he was in a tricky situation (often). I wouldn't call it of the 'noir' genre as such as it was such a bright film, possibly over long with too many landscape shots.
Some of the twists seem a little contrived, especially if you have seen Red rock west, Blood simple or any David Mamet film. Its still worth a look though as the supporting actors manage to pull you through it.
There isn't really fast paced part to the film but it never seems to drag, twists come regularly and on my 3rd viewing I had forgotten how it finally ended so its not as obvious as I may have led you to believe earlier.
The film is bleak, hot, the characters get what they deserve -crime doesn't pay.

Advantages: Great Singles Disadvantages: Weak Finish
I have liked The Killers tracks I heard on the radio and for many months meant to by their debut album 'Hot Stuff' and eventually got round to it last week when it was reduced to £6 in the HMV sale (their second album 'Sam's Town' is now out hence the reduction) and I'm very glad that I did

The next few tracks are, in my opinion superb - 'Mr Birghtside', one of a number of tracks from the album which were released as singles, is a track with something almost intangibly unique about it as it documents a drunken one night stand. Track 3, 'Smile Like You Mean It' was also released as a single ...
If you find a hotspot where the earth?s crust is thin
Beware of the dangers hidden within
A row of volcanoes standing in line
Waiting to erupt at any time
The eruption begins and day turns to night
The thick, orange lava is terribly bright
Roaring, crackling, flowing fast,
Gases and ash splutter out of the cracks
Lava cools down as it comes to an end
The volcano is sleeping ? dormant again.
I wrote this poem when I was about 12 - the first time I learned about hotspots. I'm now studying A-Level geography and studying them again unsurprisingly requires lots more detail! Some of the details in my poem are not specific to hotspots, but would be more suited to volcanoes in general.
