Advantages: Superb Sound, Very Loud, Ideal for Ipods Disadvantages: not go to travel with, Extremely Expensive
Bose SoundDock Digital Music System
I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting
Summary:
This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these.
Pros:
This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential.
I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall ...
Advantages: Looks good, Sound quality is FANTASTIC Disadvantages: Does not take batteries - has to be plugged in
different inserts so it can be adapted to fit any of the iPods including the iPod mini, nano and shuffle.
Unfortunatly it does not accept batteries which limits its use a little however this is the only negative point i could find with this unit.
All in all a fantastic little soundsystem and money well spent, i wouldn't even have minded paying UK prices for it! ...
Advantages: Great sound, sturdy, easy to use Disadvantages: Only runs off mains power
a track or alter the volume!! (oh the horror!!)
The third issue (and probably the most annoying for me), is that it can't run off battery power. While carrying it long distances for short periods of music listening is pretty unfeasable due to it's size and weight; it would be quite nice if I could take my soundsystem out into the back garden when we're having barbecues. Yet again, this is a minor problem; not really a huge concern and I certainly wouldn't let any of the above issues put anyone off buying one of these!!!
Anyway, all in all, this is a fantastic piece of equipment. A must-have if you've got an iPod. They look good, they're relatively small and unobtrusive (as soundsystems go), the sound quality is amazing. In fact, they're actually almost sexy!!
They retail for about £250 and are well worth the money!! Highly, highly ...
