Kurtis Certainly Does Not Blow
Advantages: Classic material Disadvantages: Inconsistent
The self-entitled 1980 release from Kurtis Blow came as the first full-length Hip Hop release and it comes from one of few to come from a pioneering MC. Kurtis Blow was an original as he performed with the founder of Hip Hop, DJ Kool Herc during the '70s (prior to when it was even labelled as an individual musical genre), and he performed freestyles along with Herc's Funk mixes. He also formed a group with the current Hip Hop mogul, Russell Simmons ... ...what it takes, cuz I'm Kurtis Blow and I want you to know that these are The Breaks". It is a classic for the genre and one which has been sampled so many times since. "The Breaks" which are given refer to many things, but for the purpose of many, these Breaks would signal when the breakbeat instruments would come into a Hip Hop track, allowing for breakers to do their thing on the floor. **Five Stars** 3. "Way Out West" I just found this one funny ...

Who Rocks The Party That Rocks The Party?
Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Nothing specific
...name, a third member Ready Rock C existed within the set, but from the off-set Will Smith (as The Fresh Prince) knew he’d only be a temporary role and so left him uncredited as the beatboxer to the group before he left for good in 1990. It was the breakthrough release from the funky crew and saw the Philly lot act as the final wave of positive, light-hearted rappers from the late eighties before it become more serious and Gangsta Rap was introduced ... ...find that their beatboxer Ready Rock C makes his first appearance on the album and comes through strong with heavy beats which uses breaks such as “The Big Beat” and other popular ones from the time as a sort of “La-Di-Da-Di” joint to take from Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew. **Five Stars** 4. “Taking It To The Top” In another one that you can’t listen to with out things for Doug E. Fresh’s posse, you get a tune that has them getting into a fly ...

Excuse Me Doug. E. Fresh You're On (Ah-Ah On)
Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Small role from MC Ricky D
"Oh, My God!" came out in 1986 and was the debut album from Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew. It came at a time when there was clear advancement in the Hip Hop world as the Barbados-born New Yorker dropped the album once the second wave of Hip Hop came up, following the Old School (which featured the likes of The Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five) and so with the progressive nature of the likes of LL Cool J, the ... ...as this, it made for a newer and more refined sound. The Get Fresh Crew consists of Doug E. Fresh, who does the lead raps and beatboxing, in addition to DJ Barry B, DJ Chill Will and MC Rick D (who would later be known as Slick Rick). 1. "Nuthin'" The album gets going in an exciting way as you find that Doug E. jumps right in with a a funky jam where here gets the party jumping from the start with a typically fresh joint from him where he acts as ...

It's Only Just Begun
Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Three tracks
“My Posse” came as the debut album from The C.I.A. (Cru' In Action!) in 1987. The rap group was short-lived, and this came as their only full-length (although only really three tracks) record. Within The C.I.A. you have Kid Disaster, Sir Jinx and a pre-N.W.A Ice Cube, and for this album the latter member took care of the writing (as he did with his next group), whilst Dr. Dre (who would also go on to be part of the ‘World’s Most Dangerous Band’ does ... ...going with the titular track and come out with a banger of a tune as they come up with a tune that was very much of the time, but shows the sort of direction that N.W.A> would take as Ice Cube roars the lyrics out, whilst the others come together to flow in a many (and structure) which reflects the style that was especially prominent in the work of the Beastie Boys, whilst the add to the thing with a bit of a Jamaican toasting thing on the hook. ...

How Did We Get From Jamaica To Snowflakes One Song After The Nex?
Advantages: Lots of big tunes Disadvantages: Nothing specific
“Snowflakes” was released as the first Christmas album from the R&B singer Toni Braxton. Released in 2001, it finds her mixing in a range of tunes which have her taking on familiar tunes that all know from this time as well as some original compositions. It is noted for being recorded at a time when she was newly married and was expecting her first child. 1.“Holiday Celebrate” The album opens up with a track that shows that in this album we are about ... ...lts of effort put into it in order to make it sound much more than your average, quickly-thrown-together Christmas album as we get thoughtful production that mixes in the contemporary R&B trends with the Christmas-y themes for a big opener that I can't find any faults with. **Five Stars** 2.“Christmas In Jamaica” As things move on, we see there here we get what was the second album from the record and a joint that has her linking up with the Dancehall ...
