Is Blac Haze Trying To Be Tupac Or Not?
Review of Res-sa-rec-shun [PA] - Blac Haze by
UrbanChaos
Advantages: Good Rapper but his Disadvantages make him seem like a copycat
Disadvantages: Trying to be Tupac, Delibratly sounding like Tupac and using his style of delivering his words.
...me with a album called Res-sa-rec-shun as lots of fans thought tupac faked his death, and people got question is this tupac, personally i thought it was mocking tupacs name. This all helped Blac Haze into the industry tho. i cant deny it, Blac Haze is a good rapper, but he is clearly trying to be tupac. ...

R.I.P Grym Reaper/Too Poetic!
Review of 6 Feet Deep (Clean Version) - Gravediggaz by
GrymReaper1986
Advantages: everything! excellent rap style
Disadvantages: this misses one track
...not bad 8/10
06 - Blood Brothers:
The Gravediggaz talking about how they are like blood brothers and and themselves growing up. good beat, more lyrics about death and and killing in this one. 9/10
07 - 360 Questions:
only 33 Seconds, but a funny lil skit, people asking mental questions "yo Rza, how many bites it take to chew your f*cking arm off?". il give it an 8/10 for beign a skit .
08 - 1-800 SUICIDE:
my favourite track, great beat to it, ... ...its good.
15 - 6 Feet Deep:
The last "real" track now, starts off with different people speaking, lots of weird noise, then some strange music. Not the best track, im not very keen on the music and the lyrical style.
7/10
16 - Rest In Peace (Outro):
a 2 minute track, loud music, not really continous lyrics, just Rza is shouting things and the name's of the Gravediggaz. Also the names of the other tracks, its not bad, but it is an Outro, so not ...

Scratch Underneath the Surface
Review of Beneath The Surface - GZA by
bigdiship-hop
Advantages: Jaw-Dropping Lyricism, Awesome Subject Matter, Outstanding Production
Disadvantages: TOO Many Skits, some weaker production
...album, and he does with Beneath the Surface, in 1999... Track List & Rating 1. Intro (NOT RATED) 2. Amplified Sample (5 Stars) 3. Beneath The Surface f/ Killah Priest (5 Stars) 4. Skit #1 (NOT RATED) 5. Skit #2 (NOT RATED) 6. Crash Your Crew f/ Old Dirty Bastard (4 1/2 Stars) 7. Breaker, Breaker (5 Stars) 8. High Price, Small Reward f/ Masta Killa (4 1/2 Stars) 9. Hip-Hop Fury f/ Dreddy Kruger, Hell Raizah, and Royal Fam (4 1/2 Stars) 10. Skit #3 ... ...is a true introduction to Beneath the Surface. This leads right into the album's first track, the remarkably good "Amplified Sample". The loud bass drums and claps, and synthesizers kick off the opening track, which is a classic in my opinion. Gza's on-point multi-syllable flow, extremely complex and intelligent street lyricism, metaphors, similes, and wordplay explode on this track as Gza proves that he is one of the elite in rap music. Amazing ...

Solid attempt
Review of Coming Of Age [PA] - Memphis Bleek by
Karl_Fletcher
Advantages: One of Bleek's best albums
Disadvantages: Still overshadowed by half the ROC
...('4 Da Fam, 1-900 Hustler, Coming of Age') - but this challenge is to hold an album down all on his own with few colabs.
The tracklisting reads as:
1. What U Think Of That
2. I Won't Stop
3. Why U Wanna Hate For
4. Money Cash And Hoes
5. Fuck The Small Talk
6. NOW
7. You A Thud Nigga
8. Everybody
9. Who's Sleeping
10. Regular Cat
11. Stay Alive In NYC
12. I Love My Niggaz
13. Bleek's View
14. Pain In Da Ass
15. Love The Game
16. ... ...early 90's hiphop fan, those who grew up with the party, fun tracks but with a few subliminals thrown in then this album is for you.
Production is what you would expect (a few gems, most cast-offs from ROC DJ's and producers.), however with the assistance of Beanie Sigel, NORE, Jay-Z, Ja Rule and Diamonds in da Ruff; it adds a lot more flavour to it. It possesses a grimy edge to it without leaving the mainstream, borderline commercial feel.
The ...

Thinkin' Of A Master Plan...
Review of Paid In Full - Eric B. & Rakim by
XICripZ
Advantages: Classic Hip Hop
Disadvantages: Nothing specific
Released in 1987, "Paid in Full" is the debut album from the legendary Hip Hop duo, Eric B. & Rakim. Until recently, when I educated myself on this musical genre, and the progression which it had made over the years, I knew very little about this pair, other than hearing one of the tracks from this album, "I Know You Got Soul", on a couple of occassions, but I beleive that after hearing the whole album through, you understand its signficance for ... ...record. The rapper, Rakim, and DJ, Eric B. were groundbreaking in what they presented with this album, and their partnership effortlessly combines great production (consisting mainly of Soul and Funk samples), and amazingly complex lyrics. 1. "I Ain't No Joke"
Here's a huge way to kick the album off as it begins with such a quality tune, in order to give you a strong impression of where Eric B. & Rakim will take you through these ten tracks. You ...
