A Favourite Thing
Review of Reverence - Faithless by
chocoholic
Advantages: Great music
Disadvantages: Some duds
Faithless are one of my favourite artists. In case you don’t know Faithless are made up of Maxi Jazz, Jamie Catto, Sister Bliss and Rollo. This foursome have had a huge amount of success, and still seem to have their feet on the ground. I am a huge fan so forgive me if I seem biased. Anyway this album starts brilliantly with the title track, and it is the deadpan tones of Maxi Jazz which make it work so well. My favourite lyrics have to be:
... ...so take a pace back, face facts- you don’t need eye’s to see you need vision’ Next comes ‘Don’t leave’ a very sickly love song, and I’m not at all sure about Catto’s vocals. This song doesn’t have the ‘Faithless’ touch (maybe it’s due to the fact that it is written without Maxi Jazz’s input?). Overall a very forgettable track.
Things perk up with ‘Salva Mea’, ...

Dance, Dance, Dance and dance some more!
Review of Dance Dance Dance (The Best Of Chic) - Chic by
flimfan
Advantages: Fun, dancey, great disco
Disadvantages: Lyrically not great, might not be everyone's cup of tea
...follows:
1. Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)
2. Everybody Dance (12" mix)
3. Strike Up the Band
4. Chic Cheer
5. Le Freak
6. I Want Your Love
7. Good Times
8. My Feet Keep Dancing
9. My Forbidden Lover
10. Soup for One
11. Savoir Faire
If you are interested in disco, but don't want to invest in just compilations, this is a good start.
Where to begin describing this? Funky basslines, groovy guitar riffs (everyone knows 'Good ... ...(Hear Me Tonight)', you'll realise that riff is from 'Soup for One'.
One thing that could be an advantage or a disadvantage is that all the songs are the full versions. This could be bad if you're dancing, because you're going to be tired by the end of the 8 minute 'Everybody Dance'!
I love every song, but personally, I think the two weakest are 'Soup for One', and, particularly, 'Chic Cheer', because it just doesn't really go anywhere.
Lyrically, ...

Micheal Jacksons - Thriller
Review of Thriller [Remastered] - Michael Jackson by
lauzdoors
Advantages: Lots of cracking tracks from the king of pop
Disadvantages: none
...lyrics :-) 4. Thriller - 5:57 The classic thriller thats distinctive, alternative and just always fun to listen to,its a good song to try and dance to!
5. Beat It - 4:17 - the upbeat kind of in your face sounding track, thats catchy and in a way edgy, I think this track shows a more pop/rock side to Micheal Jackson
6. Billie Jean - 4:57 A good track,I like how this song tells a story,I think this is defiantely my favourite song on the album
7. Human ... ...a familiar one that has been used on many film soundtracks, I just wish I could work out some of the lyrics/vocals,
8. P.Y.T. *Pretty Young Thing* - 3:58 A somewhat corny sounding track - yet its fun,it has a good dance sound and vibe to it,its definately a track that sounds like and reminds me a bit of Jacksons earlier songs such as dont stop til you get enough
9. The Lady in My Life - 4:12 - a nice laid back track to finish off a brilliant album. ...

?uest, Thought, 'N' 'Em Gettin' Busy
Review of Do You Want More [PA] - Roots (The) (Rap) by
XICripZ
Advantages: Consistent quality
Disadvantages: Grand Negaz production changes the signature Roots sound
..."Proceed"
The Grand Negaz do the production for this one, making a difference from the first album where it was all done by the group, but here ?uest given a break as he hands over this honer to a production group, who offer some live instrumentals for Malik and Thought to simply flow on just as they did on "Organix". 3. "Distortion To Static"
This was the first single off the album, but I can't recall hearing it before I went back to listen through ... ...group showing what they can do even when they they are just speaking their mind. It sounds as if it's done as a fresstlye,. It begins with a little Black Thought rendition of the classic Slick Rick tune "La Di Da Di" before he just goes out on whatever comes to mind. Athouth not as strong as Thought, Malik B definately has a lot ot offer in his rhymes here. **Five Stars**
5. "I Remain Calm"
The high quality of The Roots comes through with this ...

Irreplaceable? Hmm...
Review of Irreemplazable - Beyonce by
sandray444
Advantages: She sings well in Spanish.
Disadvantages: Isn't feeling emotion-just singing foreign words off of paper.
For people that do not know or haven't heard of this before, this is Beyonce's song - Irreplaceable, in Spanish. She's not saying exactly the same in the Spanish version as she does in the English version, but it is still based on the whole 'Get out of my house, you're dumped - 'cause you played me' theme.
She sings the Spanish well, but you can tell she's trying not to mess up, and she has a very strong accent as well. But she does do a very good ...
