This is a what i would call a groundbreaking album! My first real taste of the rap scene and I loved every beat and lyric of it. A lot of comedy, some commercial and indeed some very dark and perhaps shocking songs; all bursting with intelligent rhymes. ...nothing to do with flies, supa dupa or otherwise. Since hearing the Missy Elliott version of the song, I have of course realised it's by her. I've also seen the video, which is fine, with the blow-up black bin liner outfit, and plenty of body parts seeming to undergo a strange blow-up process at the drop of a hat. ...sure if it was the video, the song, or both. The lyrics are a tiny bit rude, but, to be honest, only a tiny bit - things like "can we get kinky tonight?" and "when I play my yoyo". Funny that, I've read a lot about Missy being a sexually-upfront feminist icon, but "can we get kinky tonight" sounds a little on the polite, even perhaps a little submissive, side.
