No Frogs Here
Advantages: Superlative dance music classic Disadvantages: One or two slightly weaker tracks
There have been so many dance acts over the last ten years, I find it hard to remember any of them. In fact, dance music is so risible nowadays, clubs like Ministry and the Ibiza super-clubs must have a hard time filling their dancefloors. I mean who's going to be dancing to that damn-awful stupid frog song? Please tell me it's not you …
Anyway, there have been or two notable exceptions, and Faithless, with their infectious brand of catchy riffs, ... ...have released consistently good tunes. So when I saw the advert's for this CD, I knew I had to have it. Father's day arrives and my lovely daughter buys it for me. Woo hoo.
A little background …
Faithless consists of three main protagonists; Sister Bliss, Maxi Jazz and Rollo. Cool names huh? Sis' provides all the keyboards while Maxi brings along his unique lyrical and rap style and Rollo writes and produces. Sister Bliss is a well known DJ on ...

Stone me, this is good.
Advantages: Best British soul offering for some time. Disadvantages: Not everones taste.
The Soul Sessions was Joss Stone's debut album. Released in 2003 when Joss was only just 17 years old. Incredible in itself for such a mature debut at such an early age, what seems even more stunning to me was that this soul inspired album is by a British artiste.
I am having so much fun converting my CD's to itunes, listening to albums that have been neglected.
The artwork both on the cover of the CD case and on the CD itself is pretty retro, ... ...the respected publication 'Mojo': "The soul sessions is a revelation".
Many of the songs are not her own, being penned in the sixties by artistses such as Betty Wright, who agreed to work with Joss on this CD, another shock to me, American soul legends collaborating with a 16 year old English girl, wow, they must have seen her talent.
Track 1. The Chokin' kind.
What a fantastic opening track. Very slow, full of heart and soul, a little 'bluesy'. ...

Have Faith in Faithless
Advantages: We Come 1, One Step Too Far, Machines R Us Disadvantages: Some of Maxi Jazz's lyrics
"We Come 1" was a great dance track, in the vain of their old hits "Insomnia", "Salva Mea" and "God is a DJ". However, the thing with Faithless is although they are perfectly capable of producing these dance stormers, they never stick to that formula and always come up with very diverse and original albums. This, their third album is no different. It does have some other great dancey songs such as "Machines R Us" and "Tarantula". However the majority ...

JAMEEEEEEEEEELIA
Advantages: Goood catchy rythyms Disadvantages: Some bad tracks
Jamelia burst into the charts in 2004 with her new single - the catchy 'Superstar'. She had tried for a musical career in the charts before, and hardly any one knew her, but with a comeback song as good as Superstar everybody knew she would be a great success. Superstar is a song about going to a club with your friends - seeing a guy and liking him - with an oh so catchy tune everyone even people who dont like r'n'b are singing along to it. Her next ... ...abusing her when she got married at a young age. It says thankyou for making her stronger, and teaching her she has to stand up for things. Her next song 'See it in a boys eyes' is basically saying that she can see when a boy knows he is doing something he doesnt want to . DJ is a funky, beating song about going to a club with your mates and having a great time!!! This ablum is full of different beats and it has loads of differnt music on it. Im ...

Give it up for the man called Mylo!
Advantages: Every song grabs your attention Disadvantages: At times a bit repetitive due to extensive radio play.
This is the debut album from the Scotsman. I only bought the album recently having bought the single 'Drop The Pressure,' around about this time last year on a promo copy. One thing I can say is that I wish I bought it a lot sooner. Some of the many influences heard on "Destroy Rock & Roll" include Royksopp, Groove Armada, Daft Punk and even Scissor Sisters and Prince.
You have to give it to this guy though, he's a master at making an album in which ... ...reportadly made this masterpeice on a second hand IMac. His music is rich, varied and well balanced throughout the journey of the album. The album kicks off with glorious opener 'Valley Of the Doll's' and instantly has soundtrack to the summer written all over it. It's an uplifting instrumental that is both warm and atmospheric. 'Sunworshipper' and Prince influenced, 'Guilty Of Love' are in the same vein of blissed-out summer grooves crammed with ...
