Smells like funk...??!
Review of Elephunk [PA] - Black Eyed Peas by armychick

Advantages: Funky!!
Disadvantages: Some boring songs on the album!

The Blackeyed Peas- Elephunk Interscope records, licensed to Polydor Ltd (UK) The "peas" are also known as Will.i.am, Fergie,Taboo and Apl.de.ap. The peas have been around in the hip hop music scene for years know, and true die hard hip hop/RnB fans may say that their commercialisation has spoilt the genre. However, as one of these fans, I am nothing but impressed with the album. I tend to buy albums that reflect in a certain memory in my life. ...
...throughout the whole of my girlie ski trip to South Germany and became our sound track! From then on, we all had to get it! As a musician myself I can appreciate the fine form of all things musical, but particularly the catchy tunes with a range of rythmical influences such as salsa and latino which i love. In a nutshell then, its just down right funky! In my opinion, the album is very good, strong and powerful. No two songs are the same in style, ... Read review

Lupe Fiasco's The (Un)Cool
Review of Cool, The [PA] - Lupe Fiasco by XICripZ

Advantages: A couple of good tracks
Disadvantages: No big single. Lots of poor tracks

"Lupe' Fiasco's The Cool" is the Chicago rapper's second album, released late last year, and it follows on from the momentum which he created by making an appearance Kanye West's "Touch The Sky" single, and coming out with a refreshing new Hipster Rap style with the track "Kick Push", which showed a new variation in rap which had taken influence from skater lifestyles and Hip hop culture. I only like Lupe Fiasco for his music, because he never seems ...
...seen to be arrogant in everything he does (taking after Kanye), but his style is so fresh that you have to take notice. Kanye and Lupe were part of diving a new Hipster Rap sub-genre to Hip hop which has acts such as The Knux, Kidz In The Hall and The Cool Kids, but neither of them are directly linked to this, it was more them showing that you can do something slightly different to most Hip Hoppers and still be successful and these new acts have ... Fighting Yourself, You Always Win
Review of TI Vs TIP (Parental Advisory) [PA] - T.I. by nathaninnit

Advantages: Eminem, Jay-Z and oh yes - the man himself, TI
Disadvantages: Not everything is perfect, but almost

...Joseph Harris Jr. TI really doesn't look like a Clifford, and I would pay to see his mum calling him that because I just can't imagine it. Born on September 25th 1980, by my wisdom that makes him 26 years old and he hails from Atlanta, Georgia. TI vs TIP is the artists fifth album and was released just earlier this month. In the mainstream he is well known for his appearance with Justin Timberlake on the 2006 single, "My Love", although in the rap ...
...of his game and TI vs TIP is set to be his most successful album yet, with the title of the album representing a battle with himself. 2007's TI vs TIP is split up into three 'acts' that are based on three different moments of his life, and for each act there are songs that clearly TI believes relate to each subject of the acts. The first track released from the album is actually track one, entitled 'Big Sh*t Poppin'. There is also a clean version ... Read review

JUMP OFF THE TOP FLOOR OF YOUR BACHELOR PAD?
Review of Face Off - Bow Wow & Omarion by nathaninnit

Advantages: Friendly and innocent artists, singing about things slightly less innocent
Disadvantages: Not a great mix of tracks

...how they are beginning to face off against one another. This is infact one of the better introduction attempts to an album I have heard, and am impressed that young artists have at least pulled this off. There are some good tracks on 'Face Off', although there is a limited amount of true singles on the album. Timbaland, Scott Storch and T-Pain were all included as producers on the album and the tracks they have worked on all sound how you expect ... Read review
