Mary J Blige - The Breakthrough
Advantages: If you like R & B you will love this album, Mary J Blige at her very best Disadvantages: If you haven't been a fan of hers before then don't bother as she is at her usual high standard
I have loved Mary J Blige since 'What's the 411' and 'Share My World' and she just get's better and better! So much feeling and soul in her voice you really feel the emotion when you listen to her music. A must have for all soul/hip hop fans as theres a mix of both on this. My favourite track has got to be 'Without You' as i just cannot get it out of my head. A close second would have to be MJB da MVP as it just reminds you of summer and is such ...

LOVE THIS
Advantages: Great vocals, reworkings Disadvantages: None
...**Love** Love features thirteen tracks which include covers of tracks by such artists as Journey, Take That, Lonestar, The Beatles, Sam Cooke, The Goo Goo Dolls and Cyndi Lauper to name but a few. The group again worked with Producer Randy Jackson after the huge success with their first collaboration with Motown Hitsville. Love was released on 14th November 2009 in the United Kingdom and you may have seen them in the days leading up to that date ... ...It Be I'm Falling In Love 3 If You Leave Me Now 4 Amazed 5 I Can't Make You Love Me 6 Time After Time (Kick Version) 7 Iris 8 Cupid 9 Shining Star 10 In My Life 11 Open Arms 12 When I Fall In Love (Featuring Michael Buble) 13 Misty Blue **My View** "Back for Good" written by Gary Barlow. All Back To '87
Advantages: Back to their early style; clever rapping; 15 tracks in 40 minutes Disadvantages: Couple of stinkers
...by a white act: Licensed To Ill. It's mixture of big beats, rock samples and very clever lyrical interplay between the three band members (MCA, Mike D and Ad-Rock) ensured a winning, unique combination that would sell millions of records worldwide. The singles, released in 1987, from that album (Fight For Your Right To Party, No Sleep Til Brooklyn and She's Crafty) were catchy, heavy on the wit and guitar and made stealing VW badges from suburban ... ...a stolen election and 9/11 to do it but the Beastie Boys seem to have recaptured that old spirit on this new album - released last autumn, my favourite season - and it's to their credit that three men approaching 40 years old can still look and sound so fresh.
To The 5 Boroughs features all the old trademarks of 1980s hip hop. There's scratching, crazy but soulful samples and the typical Beasties vocal interplay. First track and single, Ch Check ...

You Might Want To...
Advantages: Lots of big tunes Disadvantages: Some tracks take a while to get into
Seen as a return album, “Check Your Had” came out in 1992 as the third album from The Beastie Boys. The New Yorkers, consisting of the three MCs Ad-Rock, MCA and Mike D, were seen to return (off the back of two classic records) to return from two pure Hip Hop releases to move on stylistically to their roots in Punk Rock, whilst still holding on to both the Hip hop elements and also pulling in other ones such as Jazz too. 1. “Jimmy James” They kick ... ...as the first track to the album as it seems to effectively lead on from the killer Hip Hop offering that was “Pal’ Boutique” and so with this one you fin that as they get down to things, they keep things the way that they have been known well for with the first two albums as they come with some straight, underground Hip Hop and here come in strong with a raw Jimi Hendrix tribute. **Five Stars** 2. “Funky Boss” (Lude) 3. “Pass The Mic” After an interlude ...

There's Only One Mary J.
Advantages: Lots of big tunes Disadvantages: Not as strong as her debut
“My Life” was released in 1994 and came as the second album from the R&B and Soul singer Mary J. Blige as she, along with support from the Bad Boy label (which has Puffy Daddy as its owner, and who is also seen to produce much of this release) come to bring another heavily Hip Hop-influenced record. 1. “Intro” 2. “Mary Jane” After an interesting introduction, you see that she guides us right into what would become a classic R&B track form the artist ... ...re-worked version of the Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long”. She goes hard with the material and makes it her own, whilst not going too far from the original). It is a tune that I simply can’t see a single fault in and is bound to take you in immediately. **Five Stars** 3. “You Bring Me Joy” Sampling a Barry White track that would eventually be used on Robbie Williams’ “Rock DJ”, this is an upbeat jam from here and sees that she comes to bring a song ...
