The Two Start Buggin'
Advantages: Classic Hip Hop Disadvantages: Repetitive beats
...for them as it is what attracted so many to their fresh style Hip Hop, which was in line with expectations around this time, the late eighties, but with an original twist. **Five Stars** 2. "What More Can I Say?" Sampling their hit single, this one has the pair come out with another funky joint which you are bound to like if "Top Billin'" had you feel great appreciation for their innovative way of producing, which had elements of various other pioneering ... ...given a chance to do what he can on the mic(rophone). There is nothing in this I could pick out as being weak other than where the mixes and cuts don't seem to fit the rhythm of the track, but this can be overlooked. **Four Stars** 7. "Make It Funky" Originally, their debut single, this one has them come out with a killer beat to give them all that is need to bring out their full potential when it comes to the flows. They use samples of Slick Rick, ...

Fancy Meeting You Here
Advantages: A few big tunes Disadvantages: Inconsistent
“Welcome To The Zoo” came as the debut solo album from Gorilla Zoe, a rapper who first made his way into the spotlight when featured as part of Bad Boy Records’ Dirty South crew Boyz N Da Hood. It is a 2007 release from the Atlanta rapper and has him coming with material which finds him with others from the group, in addition to Drumma Boy, Sha Money XL and Yung Joc. 1. “Do Something” (Intro) 2. “Hood N***a” Off a fresh Drumma Boy-produced tune, ... ...solo single. I have to say that initially I really wasn’t into it, but over time I had to change my perception on it significantly as I could finally appreciate what he does in it and comes out with a fun club tune where he talks of how he fits the description of the person that all girls want to get with, and lists his credentials. **Five Stars** 3. “Money Man” Using production which has a thornback late eighties to early nineties feel to them, ...

It's Rev Run Of D.M.C.
Advantages: Hints of quality Disadvantages: Short tracks. Too few tracks. Weak rhymes
"Distortion" is the first solo album from the former Run-D.M.C. rapper, who used to be known as DJ Run. Now an official revered, Rev Run released this 2005 album under Def Jam to show that since the death of Jam Master Jay, although he won't do anymore D.M.C. work, he will continue to do what he does best as Rev Run. 1."I Used to Think I Was Run" This is the opener and has to do something big to show the progression made by the artists. I believe ... ...flow, however I think that the heard production masked the problems with the content of the rhymes, which weren't that good. **Three Stars** 2. "Home Sweet Home" You get a strange one here as Revn raps on the "Sweet Home Alabama" beats, and does so with strongly contrasting MCing, which is done in the mid-eighties style, and it just doesn't fit in with the mellowness of the production. **One Star** 3. "Boom Ditty" This one has Rev on some heavy beats ...

Gettin' The Biz Done
Advantages: Lots of big tunes Disadvantages: Not as strong as their debut
The New York Hip Hop duo EPMD (consisting of members Erick Sermon and PMD) released their second album, "Unfinished Business" in 1989, just a year after debuting and making a heavy impact as a brand new major force in the world of underground East Coast Hip Hop. The pair composed all of the beats (using many samples) and MC together throughout, just as with 1988's classic "Strictly Business". This album also features DJ Scratch essentially doing ... ...over-looker to the album). 1. "So What Cha Sayin'" To get this ting underway, you find that they start it all just as they left off with some music which has them coming with something hard to show that they are essentially here to bring more of what we know and enjoy their music for. It is hardcore, and just the way you like it all to begin as you feel some killer flows from the pair as they frequently throw the mic(rophone) to each other on some ...

Rocko Da Don? Rocko Da 1 Hit Wonder
Advantages: One decent tune Disadvantages: Generally weak
Atlanta’s Rocko made his debut in 2008 when he released “Self-Made” as his first album. The artist came seemingly form nowhere when “Umma Do Me” dropped as his debut single and he quickly followed it up with this Cool &Dre, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and Drumma Boy-assisted record. 1. “Dis Morning” (Intro) 2. “Umma Do Me” This was the track on the album which made the most noise, and it finds that the artists comes out with a pretty fresh one in which ... ...the times with a track which was constructed specifically to capitalise upon what was popular at the time, and in spite of the fact the general sound is hot, the raps are too simplistic for anyone to really rate his rhymes at all. **Three Stars** 3. “Hustle Fo” He his helped out in this one by another Atlanta name as here you find that Lloyd (one of A-Town best R&B talents) comes to provide his great vocals on top of this one as Rock Da Don performs ...
