Fat Joe States His Authority Advantages: Catchy tunes Disadvantages: Sometimes lacking in flow I bought this album after hearing 'Hold You Down' by Fat Joe and Jennifer Lopez, and was impressed. As white rappers go, most people can only name one (Eminem), but hopefully with this album, Fat Joe will be able to step up alongside Marshall and become a well known face in pop culture. Generally the album is pretty solid. Vocally, Fat Joe is reasonably fresh, and his slightly aggressive style goes well with the music. Melodically the album isn't ... ...the likes of Kanye West). The backing vocals can, at times, seem high pitched, very synthetic and generally aggravating. Occasionally, tracks can lose their flow due to poor lyrics or pauses in the vocals. However, in general this is worth a listen. The two 'Temptation' tracks are definitely a highlight. 'Hold You Down' rounds off the record nicely, and apart from the fact that Joe spends a large amount of time talking about shooting people, the ... Betta Grab An Umbrella Advantages: A few club bangers Disadvantages: Inconsistent The Bronx-raised rapper Fat Joe released “Me, Myself & I” as his seventh album in 2006, it sees him taking on the sorts of things which had been seen in material just prior to that point when he made changes in his style towards getting into the type of rap which had become highly popular at this time as he does one which sounds to be more in the southern style, and this is done with work along with other well-known Hip Hop acts and producers. 1. “Pandemic” ... ...opening track on the album we get StreetRunner (who was behind music from the likes of Juelz Santana, Lil’ Wayne and LL Cool J) comes with a track which is heavy on the bass and allows him to drop some Gangsta Rap which has him wasting no time whatsoever and getting right into it whilst carrying the legacy of Big Pun. The Whut??? Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Nothing specific Guided by Erick Sermon, who he would soon come to form part of Def Squad with (along with Keith Murray) it finds him performing the similar things to what EPMD (of which Erick Sermon is half) were known for with the ‘Funk Rap’, material coming out the East Coast and laced-heavily with P-Funk samples from the seventies and eighties. 1. “Psycho Ward” (Intro) 2. “Time 4 Sum Aksion” The album gets going with something hardcore as we get one of the singles ... ...we get a jam which uses a huge array of various samples from a little from Zapp, Sly & The Family Stone and LL Cool J to help him along the way as he gets the thing underway with a track that’s all there for the hype and has him showing just how much potential he has within him. WATCH OUT!!! THIS HARDMAN WILL GRAB YOU BY THE....... Advantages: Excellent feel good factor Disadvantages: Too good and you won't be able to stop dancing....again.....and again........and again In a music industry that is forever being labelled and categorised here is the opportunity to own, listen, live and dance with an Album that is surely its own little creature, always ready to fill your soul when you give it attention it craves. 'Attack of The Hundred Yard Hardman' is a brilliant album by Parka, to some, a little known scottish band that have been on the circuit for a while now but when you find them and join their world on this ... ...With many albums these days its usual to find those couple of tracks that just aren't up to the same level as the others but with this one all of the tracks are there to please. Yes there may be a couple that don't take your fancy but they are still good and knocking at your door for you to listen to them.
