Tha Carter I Mixtape, Bay-Beh
Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Nothing specific
In 2005 came “Dedication”, a mixtape in DJ Drama’s ‘Gangsta Grillz’ series, with Lil’ Wayne as the featured artist working on a variety of popular cuts in the Hip Hop world. It finds that with Drama as the host DJ, he provides a range of tunes that were popular at the time and it gives the Louisiana rapper a chance to freestyle over them as promotion for both his 2004 album “Tha Carter” and to build up to “Tha Carter II” (which followed soon after). ... ...the first proper track on the thing and finds that Weezy jumps on a little something that T.I. was working earlier and it sees that the rapper is able to use his apparent new-found skills at rapping to come out with some raw material where he comes with lots of off-beat expressions and metaphor-heavy rhymes where to make the most out of the production he is given (this tiem from DJ Toomp). **Five Stars** 4. “Over Here” Things suddenly shift as this ...

Tha Carter II - Lil' Wayne
Advantages: Great Music of music showcasing Lil' Wayne amazing lyrical abilities Disadvantages: Some strange tracks on there which are slightly unnecessary.
Tha Carter 2 album was a great success for Lil' Wayne and for very good reason. Released around the same time that Lil' Wayne was featuring on huge singles from artists such as Destinys' Child (Soldier) and Chris Brown (Gimme That), Tha carter II was arguably what put Lil' Wayne on the map alongside the best rappers of that time such as the newly acknowledged 50 Cent.
This album features 22 tracks and similar to Tha Carter III, consists of a hugely ... ...earlier material but this was always going to be the case as he had been working in the music Industry from as young as 14.
Undenyably, the album is not as good as Tha Carter III but should still be an album in your Hip-Hop collection without a doubt. ...

Lil' Weezyana: Wayne's World
Advantages: Great beats. Consistent. Disadvantages: Rhymes are weak at times
Released in 2004, "Tha Carter" is the first of what is now a triolgy of album releases by Lil' Wayne, from which came his mainstream success "Tha Carter III" from earlier on in the year. It is his fourth solo release and has him coming with the first of many attempts to break into the the larger rap audience, rather than simply the Dirty South market, seeing that he is a New Orleans, Louisiana native.
1. "Walk In" (Intro)
2. "Go DJ" (feat. Mannie ... ...breakthrough single. However over here I doubt that anyone would have heard this track by him as it saw no attention without being known prior to this. Lil' Wayne managed to come through with this club-suited tune which has him work closely with another big New Orleans name, Mannie Fresh, who gives the rapper some good beats and additional vocals to hype up the atmosphere. This tune got to #14 in the Billboards, and he didn't receive this much success ...

Advantages: Excellent lyrics and Originality Disadvantages: Only 16 tracks
Wow. What to say about Tha Carter III. A new, excellent face of Hip Hop. Wayne really goes hard in this album with tracks from Amilli to Mrs Carter; Weezy smashes his way into the top seat of Hip Hop artists with an array of lyrical intelligence.
