Fragments of...Awesome music
Advantages: Great dance music, peacy and happy, moral Disadvantages: Abit too electronic and synthesised. Expensive to buy.
Fragments of Freedom by Morcheba is a brilliant album which you can listen to over and over again. The words all have morals such as if you're to shallow then you'll get hurt ( from the song "Shallow End" ). If you feel like relaxing after a stressful day or if you want calming dance music...this is the album for you.
The band manage to keep up the high standard of their other albums and the album in general is almost flawless. Of course there is ...

Cowboys, Indians and funky weirdness
Advantages: Very relaxing, something a bit different Disadvantages: It ain't to everyone's taste lol
...soon added their second LP, Big Calm to my collection. To my delight, big calm was even better than its predecessor and although quite short, is a refreshing and original album that I think we should take a closer look at…
Morcheeba were formed in London around about 1995. Brother's Ross and Paul had been experimenting with their guitar and keyboards to bring about a change in the way of the musical world. Morcheeba incorporates elements of electronica, ... ...embarked on their second release Big Calm and with a slightly bigger budget and more adventurous ideas, they succeeded in making a masterpiece and were rewarded by the album going platinum.
-- The sea --
The album opens dreamily with a combination of strings and clean sounding electric guitar. The vocals of Skye soon help to build up a relaxing rapport with the listener and we're launched into a super cool introductory track that contains many ...

Extraordinary world
Advantages: Great, Great, Great Disadvantages: Last album, paralysed
...Wingate Field in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. He was paralyzed from the neck down after stage lighting equipment fell on him. In his remaining years he was largely a recluse apart from a few appearances for award ceremonies. In 1998 things got worse and he had to have his right leg amputated due to complications with his Diabetes. But the year before that he released one last studio album. "New World Order". Just two years later he died **New World ... ...the album was put together. New World Order features all new songs apart from three re-workings of his own "We The People who are darker than Blue", "It was love that we needed and "The Girl I find stays on my mind". The other tracks were constructed between 95-97 by Curtis Mayfield singing lyrics to his family and staff who wrote them down. 1.)"New World Order" 2.)"Ms. Martha" 3.)"Back to Living Again" 4.)"No One Knows About a Good Thing (You Don't ...

Underated album.
Advantages: Nice chill songs. Disadvantages: Couple of 'so, so' songs.
Morcheeba - Big Calm
Morcheeba are an electronic and acoustic and vocal band, already this gives you an idea of their diverse influences, from trip hop to almost trance.
This is their 2nd album of 6 so far, and consists of Skye Edwards (vocals), Paul Godfrey, scratching and drums, and his brother Ross Godfrey, guitars, synthesiser, organ and various bits of electronica. Additionally Pete Norris is credited with 'sound surgery'.
Skye is definitely ... ...very good. 8/10.
11. Big Calm
Instrumental first two minutes, all electronica then almost unexpected in comes some rap from DJ Swamp. If you have ever heard One Giant Leap this has that kinda vibe about it. Good stuff again. 7/10.
~~Final Thoughts~~
I had forgotten how good this album was. There are tracks, 1, 3, 8 and 10 going straight to iTunes playlists. I am also going to buy some more up to date Morcheeba now too. An 'honest album, no hidden ...

Chill baby
Advantages: Chilled Disadvantages: none
...wrong. A freind of mine who is into the worst kind of music ( Linkin Park, Crazy Town etc, etc) probably would steer well clear of this but she has no taste. This is for those people with more refined taste, but in saying that no one I know who has this album doesn't rate it. The best way to describe it is "Chill out" music. Wack it on whan you get back from a club and just let it wash over you. Much darker than big calm ( But Better) this is an ... ...you see why this is one of the best albums of the 90's. If I had to compare it to anything it would have to be a cross between Massive Attack and Portishead, Cool. So if you like to take it easy when it comes to late night tunes, choose this you won't be disappointed.... ...
