Up until the release of Good Girl Gone Bad I was a fan of Rihanna’s and had previously purchased all her albums but to me she was simply another conventional mainstream R&B artist that rise as quickly as they fall but with the help of mentor Jay Z she’s changed public opinion on her and become a worthy rival to the likes of Beyonce. The album begins subtly with the synthy beats of Mad House, this track is definitely ... ...guidance rating however the title Rated R evidently means more than previously expected. One surprise that I found when listening to this album is that it doesn’t feature her recent collaboration with Jay Z and Kanye West, Run This Town reached number one in the charts and something that I find a lot is that if the artist only featured on the song they will remix it to add more of their vocals so it can feature on their album.
