"Stankonia" was the fourth album to be released by a group which consists of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, who collectively go by the name of OutKast. This album was a successful one for the group as they managed to a #2 in th Billboard Charts, as well as three singles, of which one achieved a #1 in 2000. ...called alt. Hip Hop as this is what it revolves around. The two artist differ greatly, also adding to the mixture of what is brought from OutKast. They call themselves "The player and the poet" giving and obvious contrast from the start, as Big Boi stays gangsta as his lyric mainly go on the theme of being a thug, whilst Dre generally comes up with random metaphoric phrases. This is the best album i have ever bought, and probably will ever buy. Both albums- 'Speakerboxxx', and 'The Love Below' and packed full of quality songs. Probably every song (especially on 'The Love Below' album) has the potential of being number one. There is great variety in the songs, and contrast between the two albums. Released in 1996, "ATLines" was the second album relase by the pioneering Atlanta Hip Hop duo OutKast. "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik" was the debut single from OutKast. This was one of the first Hip Hop albums of its kind, because it was from an Atlanta duo. At the time, in the early ninties, Southern hip Hop was considered very alternate, although now it is the most prominant variation. From places such as Houston, Memphis and Miami, there were only a handfull of artist which could claim to have gotten big in America, these include: Scarface, ...
...The artist from the south had to make themself a distinctive sound as the East and West Coasts of America had before, so a blend of these two was used.
