Remember the song 'Manic Monday' by the Bangles? What about 'How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore' by Alicia Keys? The legend Prince wrote those songs. And everyone knows 'Nothing Compares 2 U' by Sinead O'Connor. Another Prince song. I think this proves what an amazing songwriter he is, and on 'Diamonds and Pearls' he doesn't fail to do this again. Dirty Indeed

Advantages: Funky, Fun and Brash
Disadvantages: Possibly too risque for some

Dirty Mind is a very dirty album. Prince goes overboard singing about absolutely anything sexual he can think of. The title track is a corker and sets the album off nicely, sort of lulling you into a false sense of security before he hits you with the really disgusting stuff. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the lyrical content of these songs, most of the time it seems to be with such humour that it really couldn't offend, but I think ...
...on the album, 'When you were mine', could be described as one of the greatest pop tunes ever written, and not just by Prince. It is absolutely fabulous, and doesn't date a day since 1980 when it was released. This could be reason enough for buying this album. The next stound out song is track 6, 'Head'. Disadvantages: some excessiveness ruins otherwise good songs

this album is the start of a long stream of prince albums designed to fulfill the remainder of his contract with warner brothers and not coincedentally is the first prince album i have heard (although some say it started with diamonds and pearls) that has more than one or two unmemorable songs. the whole album is grey in colour and while this shouldnt put anyone off the album it is quite ironic as the album at times is quite generic. the album ...
...to bother explaining what its about! but it is quite filthy at times! this is actually a good song and the first four, maybe five minutes are enjoyable. however, it lasts nearly twelve minutes and for no good reason really, other than to give the horns a solo. this ruins a perfectly good song and many times i have listened to this song and sort of 'woke up' nearly ten minutes later and think is this still playing? the second song is similar to 'come' ...
