Advantages: Edgier, more grown up sound
Disadvantages: Lacks the variety of her previous album, may alienate some of her younger fans

...has she caved with her Rated R album? Up until the release of Good Girl Gone Bad I was a fan of Rihanna’s and had previously purchased all her albums but to me she was simply another conventional mainstream R&B artist that rise as quickly as they fall but with the help of mentor Jay Z she’s changed public opinion on her and become a worthy rival to the likes of Beyonce. One surprise that I found when listening to this album is that it doesn’t feature her recent collaboration with Jay Z and Kanye West, Run This Town reached number one in the charts and something that I find a lot is that if the artist only featured on the song they will remix it to add more of their vocals so it can feature on their album. Review of Rated R - Rihanna

Quality throughout from the girl with the "Umbrella"

Advantages: Strong album tracks to back the numerous singles. Showcases Rihanna's vocal range.
Disadvantages: More ballads might win over more fans.

...and "Disturbia" are just as good a reason for making a purchase along with the aforementioned "Take A Bow". Being a fan of Maroon 5 also means that "If I Never See Your Face Again" is a personal favourite track. Strong throughout, I think Rihanna may struggle to emulate what she has acheived with this album when it comes time to release album number 4. ...

a mix and match for me

Advantages: good lyrics, amazzzing voice
Disadvantages: a LOT of the songs sound similar to me.

Im very torn with this album to be honest. I really like some of the tracks but then really dislike some too. rockeferry, the title cover of the album, im not that fond of. dont get me wrong she can really sing in this song but i think its a bit depressing. warwick avenue i like, just for the pure quality of her voice and the good lyrics that remind me of someone i knew. her acting in the video is brilliant too which drew me to the song. serious, ...
...but the lyrics i have to give credit for as they are pretty good. "I always wanted to see What colour's your destiny" stepping stone is my favourite. i really liked it once id heard it a few times, definitly a grower. amazing lyrics, brilliant video and her voice is truly stunning in this song. then the only other one i really like is mercy. there good songs to listen to to chill out but maybe its just me who doesnt like some of the songs. sorry ...

'Can We Chill?'

Advantages: Great album, RnB, different tracks, ballads, dance tracks

Another great album from Neyo, he shows no end to his talent with this album which again showcases his great voice and vocals and of course his rather outstanding talent for writing great music and lyrics. 'Because of You' was the first single I heard from this album and it was a great hit on the radio here.
