Stevie Wonder - so good I bought it twice!!
Review of Ballad Collection - Stevie Wonder by lamoon1

Advantages: It's just fab, fab, FAB
Disadvantages: None for me

17 great Stevie Wonder ballads on 1 CD. I got a really great bargain when I bought it from Ebay for £3.00 (even though I'd already got it......don't ask, I'm just very stupid and my memory's really bad - I think it must be my age. But at least I've now got one for the house and one for the car) It contains some of my very favourites - My Cherie Amour, You are the sunshine of my life and Lately to name just 3. AND it has my very very favourite - ... Read review

Find some time for "a time 2 love!"
Review of Time To Love, A [ECD] - Stevie Wonder by ritagovindbhai

Advantages: Fantastic, Fun, Bouncy, Loud
Disadvantages: None!

Well I wanted this album as soon as I knew it had been released. I'd been listening to quite a bit of Stevie and was sooo excited when I heard 'So What The Fuss' - how can a man just get better and better and more importantly funkier with age! It's amazing. I'm always a bit scared about buying new albums because music means the world to me. I'm always scared of maybe not liking something but this album is fabulous. There are some great duets too. ...
...fan, it is a must. Sweetest Somebody I Know is a fabulous song. So upbeat and full of love. From the Bottom of My Heart reminds me of his earlier stuff. My Love Is On Fire is a gutsy tune. Shelter In The Rain is sublime and So What The Fuss just makes you want to get up and dance. Positivity is another funkier track. They're all great tracks. Whenever I put this album on I find myself 'lost' in Stevie world. Just one good song after another, and ... Read review

Lovely Song for a Lovely Life
Review of Lovely Day (The Best Of Bill Withers) - Bill Withers by Sonatine

Advantages: Upbeat, funky, catchy chorus, just a great early morning pick-me-up
Disadvantages: absolutely zip!

...of it more tangible than Lovely Day, its too this particular track that really found him fame & fortune. And it's not really surprising that a lot of TV commercials tend to use it to boost their products. I'll be playing this more often I think, it will really put a smile on your face and makes you feel on top of the world. Good one, Bill, Have a nice Day!!! ... Read review

Diamond in da dirt
Review of Diamond In The Dirt (Parental Advisory) [PA] - Shystie by AmyA123

Advantages: Good
Disadvantages: None

Shystie aka Chanelle Calica grew up in Hackney and is the queen in the urban music sceen in the UK. If you have not heard her music you may recognise her from "Dub plate drama" or the recent film "Adulthood" playing the character Lisa. The album "Diamond in the dirt" has a mixed variety of music. For some reason being a female and an MC doesn't seem to mix in the eyes of a male. But Shystie proves that females are just as good if not better when ...
...in the girls corner with "womens world" shows the integrity and intelligence of this woman and at the same time is able to bring comedy into the equation. "One wish" has got to be one of her darker songs but shows the pain of growing up in Hackney first hand. www.myspace.com/shystie ... Read review

Boy in da corner
Review of Boy In Da Corner - Dizzee Rascal by AmyA123

Advantages: Great variety
Disadvantages: Not everyones cup of tea

This has got to be the best album from Dizzee Rascal. He has his own original style and unique lyrics which can't be compared to any other MC in the UK. Dizzee Rascal grew up in east London and started to get into the music scene by doing his own pirate radio show and Being a DJ in the clubs. The now 21 year old now owns his own recored label "Dirtee Stank Recordings" represented by a logo which he describes as "a lump of shit". His first single ...
...one of the most memorable songs from the album. Heavy old school base and a great music video to go with it. What makes this album so appealing? The fact that he is honest about his life living in London and he isn't afraid to cause controversy. An example song would be "Hold ya mouth" where he discuses his opinion on the police, the queen etc. with true emotion. As well as good club music, this album shows his darker side also. Although it appears ... Read review
