Get Some Crunk (& B) In Ya System

Advantages: Lots of good club tunes
Disadvantages: A few weaker tunes

Cherish is an R&B group from Atlanta, Georgia. They have a distinctive sound as much of their production is done by Jazzy Pha, who works closely with Ciara. Both she and Cherish sing their R&B tunes to club music, and the club music which is the most popular in this southern state is Crunk, so it is considered to be Crunk & B. Something else key to the group is that they are all sisters, with a set of twins, so it's expected that they will work together ...
..."The Truth" is Cherish's second album following "Unappreciated", which got to #80 in the UK and #4 across the Atlantic. This album debuted much lower at #40 and didn't chart here. "Killa" (featuring Yung Joc) This was the leading single from the album, and it also featured as one of the main songs from the smash street dance film "Step Up 2 The Streets". The song fits in to the soundtrack to the movie in my opinion. Although it was well, it doesn't ...

...Last Kiss” (originally going by the title “Kiss My A*s”) came out in 2009 as the third solo album from The L.O.X.’s Jadakiss. The New York rapper dropped it five years after his last effort and a good nine since linking up with Sheek Louch and Styles P for a collective record, and so changes were bound to have been made by the artist. 1. “Pain & Torture” (Intro) 2. “Can’t Stop Me” Getting right into the second single off the album, you see that he ...
...With Swizz Beatz on the production, you know tha there we are going straight to the clubs here, and of course (in spite of the fact the artist is annoying) he is bound to come up with beats you can’t help but get down with. I felt that the OJ Da Juiceman appearance was unexpected (based on how much of a lyricist ‘Kiss is and how wack a rapper Juiceman is) but it made for a fly tune to get listeners on a hype. **Four Stars** 4. “Grind Hard” Sampling ...

Could You Repeat That?

Advantages: Some club bangers
Disadvantages: Inconsistent

In 2007, the Floridian rapper Plies released “The Real Testament”, and it was to initiate a spree of releases from him as he would go on to quickly record new ones directly off the back of this. It was also his breakthrough record as it saw him hit it big with such club bangers as “Shawty” and “Hypnotized”, where he works with other big names in the club scene to get to this point, so that he could throw out some f his preferred Gangsta Rap cuts. ...
...to remind Rap fans of the nineties when the worst lyricists in the Hip Hop world ever made their rise as Louisiana’s Rap sound became popular, and this continues through this one as he comes with more rhymes which have flow to them, but get him on heavy beats to make you brush over this issue to some degree as here he takes on the police and talks of his disapproval for them. **Three Stars** 3. “I Kno U Workin’” The theme of the music is seen to ...

In 1993 Aaron Hall, the former member of the New Jack Swing group Guy, released his debut album “The Truth” following the disbandment of them in 1991. With Teddy Riley and Timmy Gatlin both having done their solo thing earlier, he felt it was himself to do the same and show that his work alone is as good a quality. 1. “Prologue” 2. “Do Anything” To get you into the feel of Aaron Hall’s music, and to find what the man is about you have him on some ...
...the sounds which were prominent in the type of club tunes which Hip Hop was producing at the time and so with him singing at his best, the combination of this and the fly beats mean that it appeals to all audiences; male and female. **Four Stars** 3. “Open Up” As we advance further into this album you have him going for more of the type of thing which made him famous with sample-rich production which takes from classic Funk, it definitely sounds ...

Teen Of The South" is a mixtape from Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, it came out earlier on in 2008 and acts as a filler in between his debut album "Souljaboytellem.com" (which got Platinum record sales), and his second album, "iSouljaboytellem". DJ Scream hosts this piece and does all the DJing over it. This release has Soulja Boy put on all the material he recorded following his first album, and what tracks he collaborated on. It also has him showcase some ...
...This was meant to be the first big dance une to replace the popularity of Soulja Boy's "Crank That" as it was one based aorund him calling out lots of dance moves, which you follow as they lyrics go on. This is the remix to the orighal tune and has more of a Crunk sound than A Snap Music one with heavy bass, to make it apparent that he has made some change from his first album. **Four Stars** 3. "I'm Zooted" Thsi was one of Soulja Boy's early leaks ...
