Roni and Rahzel Advantages: Good tunes- Rahzel great Disadvantages: done before? ...was an aptly titled breakthrough in electronica with its hypercharged fusion of futuristic drum 'n' bass with bebop jazz. It was, and remains, untoppable. But his long-anticipated followup In the Mode comes as close as anything could. Returning to a dystopic urban-jungle landscape, Size and his backing quintet navigate a labyrinthine funhouse of smacking speed-freak beatboxes, disorienting vocal syncopation and brooding keyboard robotics familiar ... ...In the Mode is accessible. More of these tracks qualify as actual songs, with lyrics, verses and choruses amid the skeletal squiggle 'n' slam. Uh-oh sophomore slump! Advantages: Beautiful jazzy instrumentation and beats. The track Ways Of Thought. Disadvantages: Many tracks have unengaging melodies. Sometimes borders on jazz noodling. "Creating Patterns" is the 2nd album by 4hero and one which I was eagerly anticipating after their groundbreaking "Two Pages" album. Unfortunately this album struggled to deliver, under pressure from the weight of expectations. I wanted more organic, jazzy drum n bass complemented by vocals, but 4hero were moving away from drum n bass and focusing more on live performance music. The opening track "Conceptions" has suitably varied and lush instrumentation ... ...melody and no vocals, nearly 6 minutes is beginning to push it a little. Still not bad. The 2nd track "Time" features the spoken word artist Ursula Rucker again. Remembering how perfect she was on "Timeless" in the 1st album, I listened in anticipation. However, this time the lyrics were not quite as cohesive, the melody not as captivating. Hmmm... and so it continued throughout the album. One Of The Best Albums Ever By Usher Advantages: This Album Is Worth Buying/ Better Than The Rest Disadvantages: None ...songs on this album is Here I Stand. Well, on this album I have many favorite songs. The lyrics are fantastic. Usher's album is a must get. Most of the songs on the album is about relationships/ love.
