Recorded at Sony Recording Studios, New York, New York in July 1999. Includes liner notes by Frank Rich. Broadway diva Audra McDonald can be grateful for her parents; and not just for the obvious reasons. As a child, when the classically trained McDonald was diagnosed as hyperactive, they steered her in the direction of theater as an outlet for her boundless energy. The soprano's destiny was set, as a degree from Juilliard segued into an impressive resume that included several Tony Awards and fate would quickly find the striking Ms. McDonald the toast of the New York Broadway circuit. On her second album, McDonald continues her role as champion of young, promising composers while simultaneously celebrating traditional and not-so-traditional Broadway classics. Audra's choice of material is as surprising as the grace, emotion, and control she has developed in her voice. From familiar cuts such as "Bill" from SHOWBOAT and "Somewhere" from WEST SIDE STORY, McDonald takes chances with "A Sleepin' Bee" and "I Never Has Seen the Snow" from the failed HOUSE OF FLOWERS. From the widely overlooked FIORELLO!, McDonald resurrects "Did I Fall in Love." The more intriguing aspects of HOW GLORY GOES focus on newer compositions "I Won't Mind" and "Was That You." Audra McDonald has one foot planted firmly in the past and one striding for the future.
Album Reviews: Entertainment Weekly (3/10/00, p.70) - "...boldly introduces a collection of little-known theater songs by contemporary composers....the very best number on this wonderful disc may be a breathtaking lullaby ['I Won't Mind']..." - Rating: A
Advantages: More Ethical Positioning Disadvantages: Damage to the Brand Image? Change in Corporate Identity? Implications for International Marketing
...I was walking through town today, and experienced utter shock when I walked past my local McDonalds! It had gone green!... Literally! The whole shop front had been renovated and repainted in a fowl dark green colour, while the infamous "M" remained bright yellow. It was utterly strange, people were looking at it with complete aura, in fact there were even groups of students stood outside discussing it!
So whats it all in aid of?
The change in colour from red to green is obviously to support and enhance McDonalds movement towards ethics. McDonalds wants to reposition itself as ethical; a purveyor of quality, healthy foods, an ethical employee etc. But is this change taking it a little too far?
From a brand point of view, McDonalds are pursuing a very risky strategy. Red and Yellow is McDonalds. McDonalds corporate identity...

Advantages: No Strict Dress Code! Disadvantages: Service, Cleanliness, Atmsosphere
...I'm not a huge fan of McDonalds but my two children seem to regard it as a treat so we go every once and awhile. History, menus, etc can all be found in other reviews so I would like instead to share with you my most recent, unpleasant and frightening experience.
I arrived at the McDonalds restaurant in the Meole Brace area of Shrewsbury at around 5pm on a Friday before Xmas with my son, then aged 10 yr. and my daughter 4yrs. The restaurant is situated in quite a pleasant retail park about 2 miles from the centre of Shrewsbury. There is ample parking and the surrounding gardens have matured to make the exterior of the restaurant quite attractive.. There are tables outside should you wish to sit in the cold or have a smoke. The exterior of the building itself is of typical McDonalds design - perhaps now rather dated and in need...

Advantages: Convinient Disadvantages: Not a lot if any nutritional value
...McDonalds Fast Food Restaurant
I often visit McDonald's all though the food has not much of any nutritional value at all I still occasionally enjoy their food. There are a few branches in the local area which I prefer as they seem to prepare hotter food that tastes less revolting than some places do. The standard of McDonald's food varies dramatically from day to day and from branch to brand, sometimes it's warm and fresh other times it's over cooked on the edges and cold.
They are very good if you do complain about the quality of the food and do replace it with fresh food usually a whole meal, I've found if you complain to head office they usually send out vouchers.
It is very convenient being able to use either their drive though or sit in and have a meal. They also have very use full opening times and are great for late...
