PE released their 10th album last year ('How you sell Soul to a Soulless people who sold their Soul' - great title!) but 'It takes a Nation...' will always be their benchmark record. Advantages: They can sing so well
Disadvantages: Over-produced

...Oh dear. D'ya remember that awfully dodgy single "Breathless". You know, the one where Andrea attempts to look sexy and ends up looking.....well......a bit silly really! And you know how you thought that "Breathless" was just a one off nice but dim pop record? Well, there's more nice but dim tracks here! I've been a huge Corrs fan up to this point and maybe just maybe this album will grow on me but I don't hold out much hope. Whereas the previous albums have all had a continuity between the tracks and a unique pop/irish sound, the Corrs have obviously got bored with the old and hired Mr Shania Twain (The Mutt Lange) to produce something really dull and soul-less. However, "Breathless" was the Corrs first number one single so there are people out there who like it......I can only imagine that the Corrs are aiming at a younger... Read review

Advantages: Its De La Soul, what else needs to be said?
Disadvantages: Unfortunately in this age, it doesnt have the commerial appeal to set the charts alight

...For four years, Hip Hop lovers throughout the world awaited the release of new material from De La Soul.. but would they be disappointed with the end product?! Silly question in hindsight, this is De La Soul we are talking about afterall.. Since the release of their debut in 1989 of '3 Feet High and Rising', De La Soul have evolved their style to suit the audience at the time, forever experimenting and trying to evolve the genre. There is no doubt that the debut album was groundbreaking and to this day stands alongside Public Enemys It Takes A Nations and Rakims Follow The Leader as the finest Hip Hop albums of all time. De La Soul have always been the fun alternative in Hip Hop, and this trend is continued in their 2000 release of Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump. It perhaps isnt as vintage or fresh as their earlier material... Read review
