band have not put any new material out since 2003's "WaitingFor The Moon", and this release also follows a split of theoriginal members after some disagreement. The now much slimmed downband, comprises just three of the original members Stuart Staples,Dave Boulter and Neil Fraser, they quickly recruited some help inthe form of Thomas Belhom on Drums and Dan McKinna on Bass. IanCaple took the engineering helm. In 2007 Staples and the restrelocated to France where he hasbuilt and equipped a long dreamt of studio in the rural areaof Limousin where they spent time writing and recording this newmaterial. Finally some string arrangements were added and heypresto, The Hungry Saw was complete. The Tindersticks have, asusual, managed to put together a lovely selection of sensitive andmeasured songs, but with a new, stripped down version of theirtrade mark sound which has already been hailed by fans and criticsalike. The Hungry Saw somehow reflects the laid back almostmelancholy of the French hideaway in rural Limousin. Apredominantly retro feel is present reflecting the 50's and early60's with Stuart's Bryan Ferry type Baritone a mumbling drawl, airing past regrets, loves and losses with the same aplomb as hehas done for the last 17 years!! It would have been so easy, as hasbeen the case with other bands who have had a recent split, todwell on the ghastly details, of no interest to the listener, butnone of that here. Of particular note are the title track, andfirst single, The Hungry Saw, a busy, almost rocking track, thegently swinging Yesterdays Tomorrows and the touching MotherDear where he seems to be wishing a return to the safety ofchildhood, and the spoken word drama on the final and track TheTurns We Took. Fans will love thisalbum, for those of you that have not heard the Tindersticks beforethe instrumental tracks "E-Type" and "The Organist Entertains" areboth instantly accessible and can be thoroughly enjoyed, a greatintroduction to the rest of the album which you will surely startto love!

would have thought we'd be gifted with a new Tindersticks album at all, let alone one that stands out as their best since their first two albums? Their lineup may be depleted, but make no mistake--from the first haunting notes of "Introduction" to the last soulful moments of "The Turns We Took"--The Hungry Sawis as good as it gets. The traditional Tindersticks sound--part smoky heartbreak, part sinister minor-key noir malevolence--is present and correct, and far more focussed, resulting in an early contender for the best album of 2008. Hardcore fans may lament the missing elements, particularly departed violin/second vocalist/arranger Dickon Hinchliffe, but the strength of the tracks, and the sheer thrill of hearing Stuart Staples' sleepy Cohen-esque croon tackle such gems as the title track, the gently mournful "All the Love", or the sinister "Mother Dear" prove that the band are as good as they ever were. The key moment is "Boobar, Come Back to Me"--as affecting and epic as anything they've done, and a good sign that Tindersticks still have a fruitful few albums in them yet.--Thom Allott

I am not usually one to watch horror films but when my eldest grandson came to stay he put this on for us wrinklies to watch with him.
STORY
Adam and Lawrence, both with shackles on their ankles, and a dead body in the middle of the room. Adam doesn't know Lawrence, or the dead body so his head is full of unanswerable questions.
Why is he here in this dirty room ?
Who is this Lawrence?
Why is that guy dead!, and who is he?
When Lawrence and Adam tell their stories, it turns out they have both been "kidnapped" and taken against their will to this room, and neither of them know how to get out.
When they find tapes in their pockets, and a tape player ...

The first of 5 Saw films. Saw came out in 2004, and I don't think anybody knew just how big it was going to get. The problem with the Saw series, is that you have to have watched all of them to watch one of them, otherwise you can get very confused by what is happening! Also, at the end of each film you have to watch the next one to find otu what is going to happen! Annoying in a way, but also very clever by the film makers!
Plot:
When Adam wakes up in a dark and dingy room with Lawrence, both with shackles on their ankles, and a dead body in the middle of the room, his life comes crashing in around him. And his head is full of unanswerable questions, why is he here? Who ...

Advantages: Yummy wide variety of food. Disadvantages: None, apart from food sometimes comes in smaller portions than usual.
Me and my family (me, my mum, and two brothers) are regulars at our local Hungry Horse. We find it an enjoyable day out, and the boys can go play in the play area. The food does not let us down either, and each time we are thoroughly pleased with our meals. I try to vary what I have but I usually opt for the same things- a starter of onion rings or garlic breaded mushrooms, a main course of the cheeseburger with chips and beans, and a dessert of either Sticky Toffee Pudding or if i'm still mega-hungry the "Ultimate Candy Mania".
Now we have been coming here at least twice a month for the past five or six years, so I guess I have become a bit of an expert on the menu and on the wide variety of food that it provides. Hungry Horse really does cater for everybody in the food area, from young 'uns to the oldies who prefer a more ...

Album Notes
This seventh album from the cult Nottingham indie chamber pop act is their first since 2003's 'Waiting For The Moon' and sees them reduced to a trio after the departure of several founder members. Relocating to a long-dreamt-of studio space in rural France, the band recruited new backing players and quickly laid down these tunes, whose new and stripped-down version of their trademark sound has already been hailed by fans and critics alike. Includes the title-track single.
